Last week my friend faced this issue. When he try to launch his Easy-PhotoPrint EX software, it shows a error message “Printing cannot be executed because a printer supported by this software is not installed”.
I searched about this thing. Some Mac users faced same issue with the following system configuration.
- MacBook Pro (Early 2008 model)
- Mac OS 10.8.3
- Canon Easy-PhotoPrint Ex 4.1.6
- PIXMA MG6220 Printer
The printer is recognized by the Mac System and it will print normally. Every other software recognized printer (WiFi or USB ) except Easy-PhotoPrint Ex.
If you added a printer and selected the AirPrint driver, you will get a same message.
Open Print & Scan and remove the current printer for the MG. But make sure do not select Canon MG6200 series showing under Nerby Printers. ( look below image)
Instead, you need to choose “Add Printer or Scanner” from the new window. After you select “MG6200 Series”, you must select “Canon MG6200 series”.
If your computer shows error message like “it can’t locate the printer driver” when you try to install with out using AirPrint. follow the steps.
Download and install latest Canon drivers from Canon website.
Try to add your printer. Now you can able to select other than the AirPrint.
Ex : later PIXMA MX892 driver from Canon website.
