iOS 12 Touch Screen Not Working? Here’s the fix

Many Apple users have a complaint that their iPhone screen not working. Some people said that this problem occurred after updating iOS 12. Here I am going to tell you the solutions to fix this issue.
Solution 1: Force Restart
iPhone 6 and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 2: Check screen issues

  1. Make sure that your finger is clean and dry. Clean your finger before touching the screen.
  2. Remove the case from your iPhone.
  3. Remove the screen protector (Tempered Glass/Scratch Cover) from your iPhone.
  4. Check if there is any liquid or oil on the screen of your iPhone. If it is so, clean your iPhone with a soft cloth.

Solution 3: Plug in your iPhone to power (If screen not responding)

  1. Connect your phone to a power source for up to an hour.
  2. Now you can see charging the screen.
  3. If you can’t see the charging screen, check the jack, power adapter, and USB cable. Make sure that there is no debris in to the jack and they are not damaged.
  4. Make sure that you are using the charger that came with your iPhone.

Solution 4: Restore your iPhone in DFU/Recovery Mode  (If screen not responding)
Before doing it, back up your iPhone. Because this action may erase all data from your device.

  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac/Computer via Lightning (USB) cable.
  2. Open iTunes on PC/Computer.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is updated to the latest version.
  4. Then Force Restart your iPhone (follow all three steps from solution 1).
  5. Don’t leave the buttons after seeing the Apple Logo. Keep holding it until Recovery Mode screen (iTunes sreen) appears.
  6. Select “Update” in the pop-up box. Wait until the process is finished.ios 12-touch screen issues
  7. Then Force Restart your iPhone.

Solution 5: Fix the issue with Tenorshare ReiBoot

  1. Download and install Tenorshare ReiBoot on Mac/Windows.
  2. Launch Tenorshare ReiBoot.
  3. Connect your iPhone to PC/Computer. It will automatically recognize your device.
  4. Tap “Fix All iOS Stuck”.
  5. Select “Screen Stuck” tab. Select the tab according to the issue.
  6. Tap “Fix Now”.
  7. Again tap “Fix Now” according to your iOS version.
  8. Click “Download” to download the firmware.
  9. After downloading firmware, tap “Start Repair”.
  10. After repairing, your iPhone will restart normally.

Solution 6: Enable 3D Touch

  1. Launch Settings->General->Accessibility->3D Touch.
  2. Make sure that 3D Touch is enabled.
  3. You can also adjust (Light, Medium, Firm) the 3D Touch Sensitivity using the slider. Keep the sensitivity in Medium.

Solution 7: Check for Software Update

  1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Go to Settings->General->Software Update.
  3. Tap “Download and Install” if update is available

Solution 8: Reset All settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your restrictions passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box.
  5. Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Note: When you Reset All Settings, your device will remove all Bluetooth pairing details, saved Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, and APN & VPN Settings.
Solution 9: Factory Reset
Before reset your iPhone to Factory Settings, back up your device. Because this action will rrase all data from your device.
To back up your device,

  1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
  3. Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.

Factory Reset/Restore

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
  3. A pop-up box will appear with three options: Back Up Then Erase, Erase Now, and Cancel.
  4. If you want to backup your device, tap “Back Up Then Erase”.
  5. If you have already taken a Backup, tap “Erase Now”.

Other Solutions:

  1. Replace the screen.
  2. Check Apple warranty status. If your iPhone covers warranty, take it to the Apple Service Center.
  3. Make an Apple genius bar appointment.
