iOS 12 Screen Recording No Sound on FaceTime (iPhone & iPad)? Here's the fix

Screen recording is one of the best options on iOS devices. You can record the screen with sound. But many people have a complaint that ios 12 screen recording no sound on FaceTime. Here I am going to tell you why no audio on screen recording and how to screen record with sound on iOS 12. Solution 1: Turn on Microphone Audio for screen recording
Before starting the screen recording, make sure that Microphone Audio is turned on. Then only the video will be recorded with sound. Otherwise, your phone will only record the video without sound.
How to turn on Microphone Audio?

  1. Hold down the Screen Recording icon in the Control center.
  2. There you can see whether Microphone Audio is turned on or not. Tap Microphone icon to turn on Microphone Audio.
  3. If Microphone Audio is turned on, the icon will be in red color.ios 12-screen recording no sound
  4. Then tap “Start Recording” to record the screen and check whether the audio working or not.

Solution 2: Restart your iPhone/iPad

  1. Press and hold the Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the slide to power off screen appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. To turn on your device, press and hold the Power Button until the Apple Logo appears.
  4. Then start screen recording and check

Solution 3: Check for Software Update

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Go to Settings->General->Software Update.
  3. Tap “Download and Install” if update is available.

Solution 4: Force Restart
iPhone 6 & earlier and iPad
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X

  • Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  • Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  • Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 5: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  5. Again tap “Reset all Settings” to confirm.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.
Solution 6: Update/Restore via iTunes
Before doing it, back up your iPhone. Because this action may erase all data from your device.

  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac/Computer via Lightning (USB) cable.
  2. Open iTunes on PC/Computer.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is updated to the latest version.
  4. Then Force Restart your iPhone (follow the steps from solution 4).
  5. Don’t leave Buttons after seeing the Apple Logo. Keep holding it until Recovery Mode screen (iTunes screen) appears.
  6. Select “Update” in the pop-up box. If you select “Update”, iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without deleting your data. Wait until the process is finished.
  7. Then Force Restart your iPhone.

Note: If it doesn’t work out, select “Restore” instead of “Update”.
