How to fix Apple TV “Verification Required” Error


Nowadays, many of Apple TV users are facing a problem that, they keep getting “Verification Required” message every time. Recently I too had experienced this same issue a week ago. Whenever I tried to install/download an app I couldn’t do it because of this “Verification Required” error. Then somehow I had fixed this issue with the help of tricks suggested by my friend. Here, I am going to share those tricks with you so that you can also get rid of this same issue.

Fix 1: Change your Account Settings

  1. On your Mac / PC,  open Apple Store from your web browser.
  2. Log in with your Apple ID or Password.
  3. On the upper-right corner of your screen click the person icon and then choose View Account.
  4. Under the Account Settings select Change your default shipping or billing info
  5. Now you can click Edit for Payment information and then Re-enter your credit card information (includes Security Code).
  6. Finally, click Save.

Fix 2: Re-enter your payment source

  1. Firstly, open iTunes on your Mac /PC.
  2. Then click on  iTunes Store -> Account Name -> Account Info.
  3. Choose Edit option next to the Payment Type and then Re-enter your credit card information (includes Security Code)
  4. Finally, click Done.

Fix 3: Change your Payment Method

  1. On your iPhone, go to Settings -> iTunes & Stores.
  2. Tap on Apple ID and if prompted enter your Password.
  3. You will be able to see the Apple ID menu with four options (View Apple ID, Sign Out, iForgot and Cancel)
  4. Now tap on View Apple ID -> Payment Information -> None.

Note: If you cannot see None option while editing your Payment Information, it means that the Family Sharing Option is Turned On on your device. If it is turned on then you cannot see the None option.
Other Solutions:

  • Purchase any song for 69 cents from iTunes Store. You will be asked to enter your payment information. Once you have completed, the issue may be resolved (One of the users suggested this fix)
  • Factory Reset your device and then reload all your information (It is advisable to backup your data before doing this fix)
