Mac: Mail not showing new messages in inbox, fix

Mac Mail app not showing new messages. But in iPhone, mail app shows new mails from mobilme, Microsoft exchange, and Gmail.  Some time Mac OS X Mail app showing new mail notification. Mail activity box showing mail downloading. But when users try to open the message, all messages are blank.

Solution 1:-

Select mail box (left side of Apple mail) which gives trouble. Then choose “rebuild” under the mail menu item.

Solution 2:-

Highlight the mail account and select the “Get Account Info” with a right click. If you find email with “sender unknown”, delete it from server.

Solution 3:-

Go to  Home ->Library ->Preferences .

Find and move the com.apple.mail.plist file to the desktop.

Restart Mail App and reset the account.

Solution 4:-

Delete your email account and add it again.

Other solutions:-

  • Quit and relaunch mail app.
  • In OS X Yosemite Mail Preferences -> Viewing, Uncheck the “Use Classic Layout” check box.
  • In OS X Yosemite Mail Preferences, select email account and un-check the Enable account box. Then recheck the enable box.

Hi there!

I right-clicked to bring up "Get Account Info" but in the pop-up interface I don't see anything remotely related to emails, unknown emails, or senders.

Excellent post. I was checking continuously this blog and I'm impressed! Very useful info particularly the last part cfacbeegaeeabgdg
