iPhone Not Sending Text Messages in iOS 12? How to Fix

I can’t send or receive Text Messages on my iPhone after updating to iOS 12. It was really frustrating to me. One of iPhone users told me some solution to solve this problem. After tried, the problem was gone. Now, I can send or receive text messages easily. Here, I am going to tell you those solutions to solve this problem.
Solution 1: Restart your iPhone
Restarting your iPhone is a common solution for all problems. So you have to try out this method first before doing anything.
iPhone 8 Plus and Earlier

  1. Press and hold the power button (Sleep/Wake) until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. After a few seconds, again press and hold the power button until you get an Apple logo

iPhone X and Later

  1. Press the Power Button and either Volume Up or Down Button until getting power off slider.
  2. Then drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. Wait for 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. To turn on your iPhone, press and hold the Power Button until getting an Apple Logo.

Solution 2: Force Quit the Message App
iPhone 8 Plus and Earlier

  1. Close the Message app while you are using that. Then press the Home button twice.
  2. Next, you will get all the closed apps.
  3. Swipe the screen to close the app. After that, reopen the Message app and send the message to anyone to check whether it works or not.

iPhone X and Later

  1. Swipe up the screen from bottom to center of the screen. Then swipe up the screen to close apps.
  2. Another way is long press anyone and you will get minus symbol. Tap on the Minus symbol to close the app.
  3. Then reopen the app and check it.

Solution 3: Toggle on Group Messaging

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Messages”.
  3. Under SMS/MMS, turn on MMS Messaging and Group Messaging.
  4. After this, send a message to check.

Solution 4: Date & Time to Set Automatically
This problem may be caused by wrong date and time settings. If date and time are wrong, then you will have facing many issues like this. To solve this problem, you can follow the below steps.

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Date & Time”.
  4. Toggle on the “Set Automatically” slider.
  5. If it’s already turned on, then turn off and turn on it again.

Solution 5: Toggle Off and On iMessage

  1. Open Settings app.
  2. Tap “Messages”.
  3. Turn off the “iMessage” and wait for few seconds then turn it on back.

Solution 6: Enable and Disable Airplane Mode

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Turn on Airplane Mode.
  3. Wait for few seconds and turn it off back.

Solution 7: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Reset”.
  4. Tap “Reset Network Settings”
  5. Enter the passcode if need and tap “Reset Network Settings” in the pop-up box.

Solution 8: Turn On Send as SMS

  1. Launch “Settings” app on your iPhone.
  2. Next tap on “Messages”.
  3. Now, turn on “Send as SMS”.

Solution 9: Sign Out of your Apple ID and Sign In back

  1. Open “Settings” app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on your “Apple ID”.
  3. Scroll down the page to find “Sign Out” and tap on it.
  4. Soft restart your iPhone.
  5. Now, Sign back with your Apple ID.

Solution 10: Update iOS

  1. Open Settings App.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Software Update”.
  4. If an update is available, Tap “Download and Install”.
  5. Then follow the instruction to update the app.
