Airdrop is an app that allows you to send and receive files between iPhones, iPad, and al Mac. For discovering and negotiating connections it uses Bluetooth LE and point-to-point WiFi to transfer data.
AirDrop can be customized from the Control Center and also from Settings app on iPhone X. One can choose the option that who can see your device in AirDrop and share files.
Customizing AirDrop on iPhone X (on Settings app)
To customize your AirDrop on your iPhone X, just open Settings app and click General and then Airdrop. Now select the favored option.
Customizing AirDrop on iPhone X (Control Center)
To open Control Center, just swipe down from the top right corner of the screen. Then, press or hold the network settings and click on AirDrop.
There you can see few options and you need to select one among those options.
Before that, in the Settings app, select “General” and “Restrictions” and make sure that AirDrop is turned on.
- Receiving Off – it prohibits AirDrop requests
- Contacts only – only the contacts on your iPhone can able to see your device
- Everyone – it will let everyone nearby who uses AirDrop can see your device
How to share files from iPhone X to iOs devices using AirDrop
Note: Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your device and also on the device you share with.
Disable the Personal Hotspot on your device and also on the device you share with.
Step 1: open the app and choose anything that you want to share.
Step 2: once you have chosen the files, click on the Share button.
Step 3: wait for few seconds to get the nearby users and select the name of the user with whom you want to share the files.
How to receive the files with AirDrop
You will get the notifications whenever anyone shares files with you using AirDrop. You will get the options like Accept or Decline in the popup box.
