How to Turn off Mac Startup Sound


Starting up your MacBook Pro is can be a real problem late at night. If you want to disable Mac startup sound, follow my steps.
Solution:- 
Mac OS X Yosemite or Mavericks does not have build in startup sound control. So download and install 3rd party software – StartupSound.prefPane.
Mac OS X startup sound
Go to “System Preference” and click “Startup Sound”.
Choose “mute” checkbox to turn off the Mac startup sound completely. Its also have a controls to reduce startup chime.
Alternative software for StartupSound software is StartNinja.

Solution:-
Use Terminal to turn off reboot sound.
Open Terminal using Applications > Utilities > Terminal and enter the following command.

sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume=%80

If you want to enable mac startup sound again, enter the following command in terminal.

sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume=%80

Temporary solution:
Hold down mute key on Mac keyboard at startup.
