Trackpad Not Working on MacOS Mojave After Update? Here’s the Fix

Solution 1: Restart your Mac

  1. Tap the “Apple” menu.

Solution 2: Disable Force Click

  1. Open “System Preferences” from Apple menu.
  2. Choose “Trackpad”.

  4. Click on “Force Click” and “Haptic feedback” and uncheck it.

Solution 3: Reset SMC

  1. Turn off your Mac.
  2. Connect the adapter.
  3. Press and hold the power button and Shift+Control+Option buttons together.
  4. After you release the keys, you can notice that MagSafe adapter changes color to green. Initially, it has the color of red.
  5. Now restart your Mac and check Whether your trackpad is working or not.

Solution 4: Reset PRAM

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. Again turn on your Mac and press “Option+Command+P+R” keys together.
  3. Then, release the keys after you hear the startup sound.

Solution 5: Update your Mac to the latest version

  1. Tap the “Apple” icon at the top left corner of your screen.
  2. Select “Software Update”.
