How to Speed Up iPhone XS, XR and XS Max in iOS 12?

Refresh your iPhone

  1. Firstly, you have to turn on Assistive touch.
  2. For go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility.
  3. Tap “Assistive Touch”.
  4. Turn on “Assistive Touch”.
  5. The screen will show grey and white button on the screen.
  6. Go back to Settings -> General.
  7. Scroll down the page to end and tap “Shut Down”.
  8. You will get “Slide to Power off” button with “Cancel” button at bottom.
  9. Now, you have to tap on “Assistive Touch” button. Then press and hold the Home Button until your phone will go to Home Screen.
  10. That’s it. This is the way to refresh your iPhone.

Steps to Speed Up your iPhone:

Method 1: Disable Background App Refresh

Main culprit of this issue is turning on Background App Refresh. It will take your phone’s memory for refresh the app constantly and also it leads a battery draining issue. That’s why I am telling you to turn off this Background App Refresh.

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Background App Refresh”.
  4. Now, turn off Background App Refresh”.

Method 2: Update all Apps

Sometimes our phone will be slow when we not updating apps to the latest version. Every users should update the apps when new updates available. If not, this is one of the reason why your phone is slow. Don’t delay to update your apps. Go to App Store and update the apps.

Method 3: Turn Off Reduce Motion

  1. Go to Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Accessibility”.
  4. Tap “Reduce Motion”.
  5. Then turn off Reduce Motion.

Method 4: Clear iMessage

If you save Messages for year, then it takes more space for it. So, your will become function slowly. Clearing messages is one of the best way to speed up your iPhone. In Settings, you have to select “30 Days” that will delete the messages every after 30 days. To do this,

  1. Go to Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Messages”.
  3. Now, tap “Keep Messages” under Message History.
  4. There you can see three options that 30 Days, 1 Year and Forever.
  5. If you have selected “Forever”, then select “30 Days”. Why you select this option is speed up your slow iPhone.
  6. This option will keep your Message only for 30 days and then it deletes the Message automatically.

Method 5: Clear Safari Cookies

  1. Go to Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Safari”.
  3. Tap “Clear History and Website Data”.

Method  6: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your phone’s passcode if prompted.
  4. Again tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box to confirm.

Method  7: Turn Off Automatic Updates

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “iTunes & App Store”.
  3. Under AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS, turn off “Updates”.

Method  8: Update Current iOS

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Now, go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
  3. Tap “Download and Install” if update is available.

Method 9: Turn Off Location Services for particular Apps

When it turns on for some apps, it will reduce the phone’s memory and phone will become slow. So, turn off Location Services for some apps.

  1. Go to Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Privacy”.
  3. Tap “Location Services” and turn it off for some apps.
