Screenshot Not Working in iOS 12 on iPhone and iPad


After updating to iOS 12, Screenshot not working on my iPhone. When I was trying to take a screenshot on my phone, I couldn’t. Then I tried some solution to fix this problem. After trying, I could take a screenshot normally like before updating. Here I am going to tell you how to fix this Screenshot not working issue on your iPhone or iPad. If you have this same issue, then this article will help you.
Solution 1: Restart your iPhone
iPhone 8 and Earlier

  1. Press and hold the power button until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. After few seconds, again press and hold the power button until you get an Apple logo.

iPhone X

  1. Press and hold the side button until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. Another way to restart your iPhone is open “Settings”.
  4. Tap “General”.
  5. Tap “Shut Down”. Then wait 10 to 15 seconds. After that click “side” button to turn on your iPhone.

Solution 2: Force Restart
iPhone 6 and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Note: Don’t press “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” at the same time.
Solution 3: Using AssistiveTouch
If you are using buttons to take a screenshot but didn’t work for you, you can try Assistive touch. It will fix screenshot not working issue on your iPhone or iPad.

  1. Launch “Settings” -> “General” -> “Accessibility”.

  3. After did this, on your screen you can see one white color circle button. Click it.

Solution 4: Using 3D Touch
If you are using iPhone 6s or later, you can take a screenshot by using 3D Touch Actions. To do so,

  1. First, Enable “AssistiveTouch”.
  2. Here, you can see the option that “Customize Top Level Menu” and tap on it.
  3. Check the 3D touch to Screenshot.screenshot-not-working
  4. Then take a screenshot by using Assistive Touch icon.
