Screen Flickering on iPhone XS, XR and XS Max – Here’s the Fix

Some iPhone users have been complaining that their iPhone become flickering and unresponsive touch issue occur on recent iPhone models. This problem occurs when switching from one app to another one. Solution 1: Hard Reset iPhone

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Note: Don’t press “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” at the same time.
Solution 2: Force close the Music app and Reopen
If you have this flickering problem on some apps, then force close the app while using it. Then relaunch the app and use it. To force close,

  1. Swipe up the screen from bottom left corner to the middle of the screen. When you will get the closed apps, leave your fingers from the screen.
  2. Either you can hold the app until seeing the minus symbol and tap on the minus symbol to close the app or swipe up the app to close.

Solution 3: Turn Off Auto-Brightness
There are many iPhone users have solved their iPhone flickering issue by turning off Auto-Brightness. To do this,

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility.
  2. Tap on “Display Accommodations”.
  3. Turn off “Auto-Brightness”.

Solution 4: Turn On Reduce Transparency

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility.
  2. Tap “Reduce Transparency” and turn on it.

Solution 5: Manage Memory Storage
If your phone’s memory is full, then this kind of issue will occur often. So, check your device storage if it almost full, then remove unwanted files, music, app, videos and photos on your iPhone.

  1. Go to Settings -> General.
  2. Tap on “iPhone Storage”.
  3. Check which is mostly occupied your storage and delete the unwanted files.
  4. After doing this restart your iPhone.

Solution 6: Restore your iPhone in DFU/Recovery Mode

  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac/Computer via Lightning cable.
  2. Now, open iTunes on your PC/Computer.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is updated to the latest version.
  4. Press and hold the Side button (Sleep/Wake) until seeing the Recovery Mode screen (iTunes Screen).
  5. Select “Restore” in the pop-up box. Wait until the process is finished.
  6. After restore finishes, set up your iPhone.

Note: Don’t leave the Side button after seeing the Apple logo. Keep holding it until recovery mode screen appears.
