Safari App Not Working After Update iOS on iPhone, iPad? Here’s the Fix


As you all know that Safari app is default to iPhone users. Some iPhone users reported that after updating iOS they have a problem like a safari app not working. I too have the same problem after updating. I try some steps to recover this issue and it works for me. So in this article, I’m going to say those solutions to solve your problem.

Solution 1: Turn On Safari

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap Cellular data.
  3. Turn on the Safari app.

Solution 2: Clear Cache, and Browser History

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see Safari and then tap it.
  3. Then tap Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Tap Clear History and Website Data in the Pop-up box to confirm your action.

Solution 3: Restart your device

  1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the slide to power off screen appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. Again press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see an Apple Logo.

Solution 4: Turn off iCloud Safari

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see iCloud and then tap Safari.
  3. Turn off the Safari.
  4. Wait for a few minutes to complete the process.

Solution 5: Turn Off AutoFill

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap Safari > Autofill.
  3. Turn the Use Contact Info/Name and password/Credit cards to off.

Solution 6: Turn off javaScript

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap Safari > Advanced.
  3. Turn off the JavaScript.

Solution 7: Turn off Safari Suggestion

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap Safari.
  3. Turn off the Safari Suggestions.

Solution 8: Force Restart/Hard Reset

iPhone 6

  1. Press and Hold the Home button.
  2. Press and hold the Wake/Sleep button when holding the Home button.
  3. Hold both buttons until you see the Black Screen.
  4. Wait for sometimes to see Apple Logo.

iPhone 7

  1. Press and hold the Wake/Sleep(Power) button at the right of your iPhone.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Button.
  3. Wait until the Apple Logo appears.

iPhone 8 and iPhone X, XS, XS Max, XR

  1. Press Volume Up button and then release it quickly.
  2. Press Volume Down button and then release it quickly.
  3. Finally, press and hold the Side button( Wake/Sleep button) until the Apple logo appears.

Solution 9: Factory Reset

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see General and then tap it.
  3. Again scroll down to see Reset and then tap it.
  4. Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
  5. Now the pop-up box will appear with 3 options. If you want to Backup your device then tap Back Up Then Erase.
  6. If you have already taken a Backup then tap Erase Now.
  7. Wait until the process gets finished.

Note: This fix will remove all data from your device. Therefore, it is advisable to take a backup
