Purchased TV Shows or Movies Not Showing on Apple TV – Fixed

Apple users have complained that purchased TV shows not showing on Apple TV and it asked to purchase a TV series again.
I have also faced this same issue. It was working fine last night. Today morning I open the TV Series I couldn’t open that and it shows some unknown error and purchased TV shows not showing on Apple TV then it suddenly asked to purchase a TV series again. I have tried to open the episode from the history but it rerouted to the generic search result page. The I have chosen iTunes service but it opens and it asked to purchase the episode again. It was really frustrating for me. I told this problem to one of my friends and he suggested me some solutions to get rid of this problem. After trying, there is no issue on my Apple TV and now it works fine. In this article, I am going to tell you those solutions to fix this issue.
Solution 1: Restart Apple TV
Using Remote

  • If you are using  Apple Tv Remote or Siri Remote, press and hold “Menu” button until light flashes on your Apple TV.
  • If you are using Apple TV Remote (white or aluminum), press and Menu and Down button until light flashes.

Using Settings

  • If your Apple TV is the 2nd or 3rd generation or earlier, open Settings -> General ->  Restart.
  • If your Apple is 4th generation or 4k, open Settings -> System -> Restart.

Solution 2: Sign Out of iCloud and Sign In Back

  1. Go to Settings on your Apple TV.
  2. Click Accounts -> iCloud.
  3. Then select “Sign Out”.
  4. Wait for few seconds and sing back in.

Solution 3: Restart your Router
If you are using the wireless router,

  1. Disconnect the router from the power.
  2. To do that, unplug the power cord from the back of the router and wait for sometimes.
  3. Now, plug the power cord into the router.

If you are using wireless hotspot,

  1. First, turn off the Hotspot and wait for few seconds.
  2. Then turn it on back.

Solution 4: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset Network Settings”.
  3. Enter the passcode if prompted and tap “Reset Network Settings” to confirm the action.

Solution 5: Check for Software Update

  1. If you are using Apple TV 4th generation, go to Settings -> System -> Software Updates.
  2. Select Update Software.
  3. If an update available here, choose “Download and Install”.

 Turn on Automatic Update
If you want to update the software automatically when the update is available, you just turn on Automatically Update.

  1. For a 4th generation, Go to Settings -> System -> Software Updates.
  2. Turn on “Automatically Update”.
  3. For the 2nd and 3rd generation, Go to Settings -> General -> Update Software.
  4. Turn on “Update Automatically”.

Solution 6: Restore your Apple TV
If the above solutions didn’t work for you, you can try this.
Apple TV 4K or 4th Generation

  1. Go to Settings -> System -> Reset.
  2. Here you can see two options:

 Reset: It will factory reset your device and it doesn’t need the internet connection.
Reset and Update: It will factory reset your device and install the software update as well. It needs an internet connection.
3.Keep your Apple TV plugged into the power until the process has done.
Apple TV 3rd Generation or Earlier

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. You can choose either Reset All Settings or Restore.
