Proximity Sensor is not Working on iPhone X? Here’s the Fix


Many of the iPhone users have a complaint that the proximity sensor is not working on iPhone X. Generally, the Proximity sensor helps to reduce the power consumption. This issue may happen after the screen Replacement. Do you have this issue?. Don’t worry. Here I give some fixes to solve this problem.
If you have this issue suddenly do this action

  1. Remove the case and screen protector.
  2. Take a smooth cloth or dust free cloth and clean the display.

If it till not works, kindly follow the steps below
Fix 1: Restart your iPhone

  1. Press and hold the Power Button until the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. After your iPhone turns off, press and hold the Power button until the Apple Logo appears.

Fix 2: Force Restart your iPhone
For iPhone 6 and early

  1. Press and hold the “Home Button” and “Power Button” simultaneously.
  1. Hold both buttons until screen turns to “black” and wait until the Apple Logo appears.

For iPhone 7
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down Button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.
For iPhone 8 and later

  1. Press the “Volume Up button” and release it.
  2. Press the “Volume Down button” and release it.
  3. Then, press and hold the “Side Button” until the Apple Logo appears.

Fix 3: Update iOS version

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
  2. Click “Download and Install” if an update is available.
  3. No update is available on my iPhone. My phone is up to date.

Fix 4: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter the “Passcode”.
  4. Enter your “Restrictions Passcode”.
  5. Enter “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box.

Fix 5: Factory Reset your iPhone
Before factory reset you need to back up all the data on your iPhone because this action may delete all the data.
To take a Backup,

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Then, go to Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> iCloud Backup.
  3. Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on.
  4. Tap “Back Up Now”.

To Factory Reset,

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. Click “Erase All Content and Settings”.
  3. The pop-up box appears with 3 options: Finish Uploading Then Erase, Erase Now, Cancel.
  4. Tap “Finish Uploading Then Erase” to back up the data (or) Tap “Erase Now” if you already backup the data.
