As you all know, portrait mode is one of the best options on iPhone. But many people said that portrait mode not working on their iPhone. Before trying these solutions,
- Restart your iPhone
- Make sure that the distance between the phone and the subject is proper (Not too long or not too short).
- Keep at least 19 inches distance between the phone and the subject.
- Make sure that the circle turns to yellow when you take the photo.
- Don’t use portrait mode in the dark place or low light. Because portrait mode will not work in low light.
Solution 1: Force Restart
- Press the Volume Up Button and quickly release it.
- Press the Volume Down Button and quickly release it.
- Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.
Solution 2: Check for Software Update
- Connect your iPhone to Wi-F.
- Open Settings->General->Software Update.
- Tap “Download and Install” if update is available.
Solution 3: Force close apps
- Swipe up the screen from the bottom and pause in the center.
- Swipe all the apps up to close them forcely.
- Then try portrait mode.
Solution 4: Reset All Settings
- Go to Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Reset All Settings”.
- Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
- Tap “Reset All Settings”.
- Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.
Note: Reset All Settings will remove all Bluetooth pairing details, saved Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, and APN & VPN Settings.
Solution 5: Factory Reset
Before doing it back up your iPhone. Because this action will erase all data from your device.
To back up your iPhone,
- Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi/Cellular Data.
- Open Settings.
- Tap your Apple ID banner.
- Tap “iCloud”.
- Scroll down to find “iCloud Backup” and tap it.
- Enable “iCloud Backup”.
- Tap “Back Up Now”. Wait until the process is finished.
To Factory Reset your iPhone,
- Open Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Erase All Content and Settings”.
- Enter your Passcode if required.
- Tap “Erase iPhone” in the pop-up box.
- Again tap “Erase iPhone” to confirm.
- Wait until your iPhone restarts and then set up your iPhone as new.
Solution 6: Update/Restore your iPhone in DFU/Recovery Mode
- Connect your iPhone to Mac/Computer via Lightning (USB) cable.
- Open iTunes on PC/Computer.
- Make sure that iTunes is updated to the latest version.
- Press the Volume Up Button and quickly release it.
- Press the Volume Down Button and quickly release it.
- Press and hold the Side Button until Recovery Mode (iTunes) screen appears.
- Select “Update” in the pop-up box. If you select “Update”, iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without deleting your data. Wait until the process is finished.
- Then Force Restart your iPhone.
Note: If it doesn’t work out, select “Restore” instead of “Update”. If you select “Restore”, all data will be erased from your iPhone.
