Fixed: Notification Sound Not Working on iPhone XS, XS Max and XR after iOS Update?

Many of the iPhone users have a complaint that their “iPhone Notification Sound Not Working” and also they said that, this issue basically happens after their iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version. Before trying the solutions try the following steps,

  1. Restart your iPhone.
  2. Make sure your iPhone mute button is turned on.

Fix 1: Enable Notification Settings

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Tap “Notifications”.
  3. Choose the “App” which you want to get notified.
  4. Find “Allow Notifications” and Enable it.
  5. Select the notification sound you want.

Fix 2: Turn off Do Not Disturb

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Do Not Disturb”.
  3. Turn off Do Not Disturb.

Fix 3: Reset Sound Settings

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Scroll down to find “Sound” and tap it.
  3. Find  “the Change with Buttons” option and Turn off it.
  4. Then, drag the slider under “RINGER AND ALERTS” to adjust your volume level.
  5. Finally, Turn on the “Change with Buttons”.

Fix 4:  Check for Software Update

  1. Go to “Settings”.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Software Update”.
  4. Check for the latest update.

Fix 5: Reset All Settings

  1. Open “Settings”.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Find “Reset” and tap it.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  5. Enter your device “Passcode”.
  6. Enter your “Restrictions Passcode” if required.
  7. Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Fix 6: Factory Reset your iPhone

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Erase All Content and Settings”.
  3. Now, a pop-up box appears with three options.
  4. If you want to back up the data means tap “Finish Uploading Then Erase”.
  5. If you don’t want to get backup means tap “Erase Now”.
  6. Now your device will reset completely.

Fix 7: Restore your iPhone in DFU/ Recovery Mode

  1. Connect your iPhone via Lightning cable to the Mac or PC.
  2. Open iTunes on your PC or Mac.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is upgraded to the latest version.
  4. Press “Volume Up Button” and release it quickly.
  5. Press “Volume Down Button” and release it.
  6. Finally, press and hold the “Side Button” until the apple logo appears.
  7. Now, a pop-up box appears with three option.
  8. In that, you can choose “Restore” or “Update”.
  9. Wait until the process is finished.
  10. After the process gets completed “Restart your Device”.
