How to fix Network Error on FaceBook : iPhone & iPad app

iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch users keep getting network error message on FaceBook app. News feed just spins and provide this error. But everything else works like viewing own profile.
Reported devices ; iPhone 5 , iPhone 4s, ipad Mini, iPod Touch
Solution 1 : (Logout & login)
If you installed FaceBook app on your both iPhone or iPad devices and its on same Wifi network, follow my guide.

  • On your iPad, remove Facebook app, FaceBook Messenger app, remove Facebook account settings in Setting app.
  • Turn off your iPhone. Reinstall 2 apps and set your FaceBook settings again in iPad settings app.

Solution 2: (Reinstall the app)
Uninstall the FaceBook app and install it again.
Solution 3:  (logout/login FB and turn off/on Wifi)

  • Logout and close Facebook app.
  • Turn off Wifi
  • Turn on Wifi or use Mobile data.
  • Open FaceBook app and login again. Refresh the news feed.

Solution 4: (Reset network settings)
Reset network setting via Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.
Other fixes:-

  • If you activated VPN on your iPhone, go to Settings -> General and switch of connect to demand.

i have done all 3 solutions to no avail. Everything else in Facebook works on my iPad except newsfeed. It either reads no stories or network error, but no uploads.

but if you have an android phone and you are willing to set vpn then go to setting > more wireless > vpn and for Ipad vpn setting you might be also go with same if facebook is not working in your region. Also chose Ipad vpn according to vpnranks

I have tried everything that people has suggested and I still get Network Error. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. Open to any suggestions.

Me too. I’ve reported this problem to Facebook since November 8th, it’s almost December 1st and Network Error still pops up. This is absolutely ridiculous!

I'm still trying to sort out the same issue. No luck so far.
But as a work-around, I can access Facebook via Safari as a web page in lieu of using the app–if that helps anyone.

There are three ways to fix the connection problem:
1.- Update to the latest software: Go to “Google Play” (formerly known as “Android Market”) and select MY APPS > UPDATE
This solution doesn’t work for me but I’ve read it solved for some users.
2.- Change your password by going to you Android Settings -> Manage Applications -> Facebook -> Clear Data
With this it will solve most problems. I honestly don’t understand why this change works but It works charmly for most phones
3.- Fully Uninstall and Re-Install Facebook Application from google play. This fixed the connection lost problem for me. Just go to Play Store (on your Android device) or Appstore (on Iphone) and go to Installed Applications and select Facebook Uninstall. Then go search again for facebook and re-install. You will be prompted for you password and then it will SYNC and will work again 🙂
