Mail App Not Working on iPhone XS and XS Max – Fixed

Some iPhone users have been complaining that they can’t send or receive an email after iOS 12 update. I think it’s a common issue in the iPhone and it’s very easy to solve. You don’t need to worry about this problem. Here I am going to tell you some solutions to solve this problem. It will help you to to get rid of Mail app-related issues.
Solution 1: Restart your iPhone
Restarting your iPhone is a common solution for all problems. So you have to try out this method first before doing anything.

  1. Press the Power Button and either Volume Up or Down Button until getting power off slider.
  2. Then drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. Wait for 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. To turn on your iPhone, press and hold the Power Button until getting an Apple Logo.

Solution 2: Reset All Settings

  1. Launch Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General” -> “Reset”.
  3. Now, select “Reset All Settings” from the options.
  4. Again tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box to confirm.

Solution 3: Sign Out iCloud and Sign In Back

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on your “Apple ID”.
  3. Scroll down the page to the end and tap “Sign Out”.
  4. Wait for a few seconds and sign back in.

Solution 4: Remove the Mail Account and Re-add it

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Passwords & Accounts”.
  3. Select the email which you want to delete.
  4. Then tap “Delete”.
  5. Normal restart your iPhone and re-add your mail account.

Solution 5: Turn Off and On Airplane Mode & Wi-Fi

  1. Launch “Settings” -> Turn On “Airplane Mode” and wait for few seconds and turn off it back.
  2. Launch “Settings” -> “Wi-Fi” -> Turn off “Wi-Fi” and wait for few seconds and turn on it.

Solution 6: Force Restart your iPhone

  1. Press and release Volume Up button.
  2. Press and release Volume Down button.
  3. Press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.

Solution 7: Force Close an Apps

  1. Swipe up the screen from bottom left corner to the middle of the screen. When you will get the closed apps, leave your fingers from the screen.
  2. Either you can hold the app until seeing the minus symbol and tap on the minus symbol to close the app or swipe up the app to close.
  3. After doing this open the Mail App and check whether it works or not.

Solution 8: Reset Network Settings

  1. Launch Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. Select “Reset Network Settings”.
  3. Enter the password if prompted.
  4. Again tap “Reset Network Settings” to confirm.

Solution 9: Update Current iOS

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Scroll down the page to find “Software Update”.
  4. If there an update is available, tap “Download and Install”.

Solution 10: Uninstall and Reinstall the Mail App
Still, this issue occurs, try to uninstall the app and reinstall it.

  1. Press and hold the app that you want to delete. Hold this until app icons wiggling and X symbol appear.
  2. Click the “X” symbol to delete the app.
  3. Then download and install the app from the App Store.

Solution 11: Re-add any other Email

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Password & Accounts.
  3. Now, tap on “Add Account”.
  4. Under this, select google, yahoo or iCloud anyone that you use.
  5. Then enter the Mail ID and Password.
