Mail App Not Working in iOS 12 on iPhone and iPad


Many iPhone users complained that their Mail app not working after updating to iOS 12. I have also had this mail app. I told this problem to one of my friends and he gave me some solutions to fix this problem. After trying, there was no issue on my Mail app and now it works properly. In this article, I am going to tell you how to fix Mail App not working on iPhone or iPad.
Solution 1: Force Restart
iPhone 6 and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Note: Don’t press “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” at the same time.
Solution 2: Remove the Email Account and Re-add them

  1. Go to “Settings” app on your iPhone.
  2. Click on  “Email”.
  3. Click on “Accounts”.
  4. You have to tap on “Email” Account.
  5. Click on “Delete Account”.
  6. To confirm, click on “Delete From My iPhone”.
  7. Then re-add your account.

Solution 3: Enable and Disable Cellular Data for Mail App

  1. Launch “Settings” -> “Mail”.
  2. Enable “Cellular Data” and wait for few seconds. After that, turn it off.

Solution 4: Change the Password

  1. Launch “Settings” app on your iPhone.
  2. Click “Accounts and Passwords”.
  3. Click on your Email under Accounts and click on Re-Enter the password.

Solution 5: Uninstall and Reinstall the Mail App

  1. Press and hold the Mail app that you want to delete. Hold this until app icons wiggling and X symbol appear.
  2. Click the X symbol to delete the app.

Solution 6: Reset All Settings

  1. Launch “Settings”->“General”->“Reset”.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your Restrictions Passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box.
  5. Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Solution 7: Update Current Software

  1. Launch “Settings” app on your iPhone.
  2. Click “General” -> “Software Update”.
  3. Click “Download and Install” if an update is available.

Solution 8: Restore your iPhone via iTunes
Before you do this, backup your device because it will erase all data on your Phone.

  1. Open iTunes on your PC or MAC. Make sure that iTunes is upgraded to latest version.
  2. Connect your iPhone or iPad via data (USB) cable to the Mac.
  3. Tap your iPhone icon when it shows on iTunes.
  4. Select Summary tab and tap “Restore iPhone”.
  5. A new box will open to ask to confirm the action. Tap “Restore”.
  6. Then iTunes will restore your iPhone.
  7. When your phone restart, you can see a few options. You have to select “Set Up as New iPhone”.
