iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR Won’t Ring Only Vibrates? Here’s the fix


Many Apple users have a complaint that their iPhone only vibrating not ringing when they get a call or text. Do you have the same problem on your iPhone? Here I am going to tell you the solutions to fix iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR doesn’t ring only vibrates.
Solution 1: Increase Ringers and Alerts Volume

  1. Open Settings->Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Drag the Ringer and ALerts slider to increase the volume.

Solution 2: Disable Silent Mode
When your phone is on Silent Mode, it won’t ring.

  1. Above Volume Buttons (Left side of your iPhone), you can see the Silent/Ringer switch.
  2. If your iPhone is in silent mode, you can see the orange color.
  3. Move the switch towards the right side to enable Ring Mode.

Solution 3: Disable Bluetooth

  1. Open Settings->Bluetooth.
  2. Turn off “Bluetooth”.

Solution 4: Change the ringtone

  1. Launch Settings->Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Tap “Ringtone”.
  3. Select the ringtone that you want to set.

Solution 5: Force Restart

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and quickly release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and quickly release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.iphone xs max won't ring-only vibrates

Solution 6: Unplug headphones

  1. When headphones are connected to iPhone, you can’t hear the sound through the speaker.
  2. So remove headphones if plugged.

Solution 7: Disable “Do Not Disable”

  1. Open Settings->Do Not Disturb.
  2. Turn off “Do Not Disturb”.

Solution 8: Check for Ringer or Headphones Mode

  1. Sometimes your phone may be stuck in Headphones Mode. At that time, you can’t hear ringtone through the speaker.
  2. Press the Volume Button to check whether your phone is in Ringer or Headphones Mode. If your phone is stuck in headphones mode, you can see the notification “Headphones” while adjusting the volume.
  3. To leave Headphones Mode, plug and unplug headphones 5-10 times.
  4. Press the Volume Button. You can see the notification “Ringer” which means your iPhone becomes normal.
  5. Now check whether your iPhone rings or not.

Solution 9: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  5. Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Note: Reset All Settings will remove all Bluetooth pairing details, saved Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, and APN & VPN Settings.
