iPhone XS Not Vibrating When Receiving Call/Text? Here’s the fix


iPhone XS not vibrating when receiving call/text…? This issue is common on iOS devices. Sometimes you may disable vibration without your knowledge. Here I am going to tell you the solutions to fix iPhone XS not vibrating when receiving text/call.
Solution 1: Enable Vibration

  1. Go to Settings->General->Accessibility.
  2. Scroll down to “Vibration” and tap it.
  3. Make sure that “Vibration” is turned on.

Solution 2: Enable Vibrate on Ring

  1. Launch Settings->Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Make sure that “Vibrate on Ring” is enabled.
  3. There you can see many categories such as Ringtone, Text Tone, New Voicemail, New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, Reminder Alerts, and AirDrop under SOUNDS AND VIBRATION PATTERNS.
  4. Choose “Ringtone”.
  5. Tap “Vibration”.
  6. Make sure that “None” is not selected. If you select “None”, vibration alert will be set to mute (Silent).
  7. Select any one of the Vibration alerts under STANDARD.

If Vibration doesn’t work when you receiving text,

  1. Choose “Text Tone” instead of Ringtone.
  2. Tap “Vibration”.
  3. Select any one of the Vibration alerts under STANDARD.

Solution 3: Disable Silent Mode
Check whether your phone is on Ring Mode or Silent Mode. If your Phone is on Silent Mode, it won’t vibrate when receiving call/text. So disable Silent Mode.iphone xs not vibrating on silent
If you don’t want to disable Silent Mode, enable “Vibrate on Silent”. When you enable “Vibrate on Silent”, your iPhone will vibrate even it is on Silent Mode.
To Enable Vibrate on Silent,

  1. Launch Settings->Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Make sure that “Vibrate on Silent” is enabled.

Solution 4: Turn off “Do Not Disturb”

  1. Launch Settings->Do Not Disturb.
  2. Make sure that “Do Not Disturb” is turned off.

Solution 5: Restart your iPhone

  1. Press and hold the Side Button and either Volume Up/Down until the slide to power off screen appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. To turn on your device, press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 6: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  5. Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.

Solution 7: Factory Reset
Before reset your iPhone to Factory Settings, back up your device. Because this action will Erase all data from your device.
To back up your device,

  1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
  3. Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.

Factory Reset/Restore

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
  3. Enter your Passcode if required.
  4. Tap “Erase iPhone”.
  5. Again tap “Erase iPhone” to confirm.
  6. Wait until the process is finished and then set up your iPhone.
