Many iPhone users reported that iPhone Camera not working and it shows a black screen. Past two weeks before I too had this same issue when I used the iPhone XS camera. After a few days before, I discussed this problem with one of my friend and he suggests me some steps to solve this issue. I tried those steps now my iPhone camera is working fine. So, in this article, I am gonna share those steps with you to fix this issue. Hope it may also solve your problem.
Solution 1: Force Close Camera App
If you have a black screen issue on the iPhone camera, Sometimes this issue happens because the app not perfectly launches or loaded. So for that, force close the camera app and wait for a few seconds. Then open it again. This will solve your issue.
Solution 2: Disable Voiceover feature
Make sure that the voice-over feature is turned off, if not. Then this will cause some problems with your camera app on your device.
- Launch Settings.
- Scroll down the screen and tap on General.
- And click the Accessibility option.
- Now turn off the voiceover feature on your iPhone.
- Check the camera app is working properly on your iPhone.
Solution 3: Force Restart your device
A common troubleshooting step will solve the camera not working issue on your device. So try this method.
- Press the Volume Up button and then release it quickly.
- Press the Volume Down button and then release it quickly.
- Finally, press and hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears.
Solution 4: Switch the camera from rear-facing to front-facing camera
If your iPhone front camera is not working, then try to switch the camera from rear-facing to front-facing camera.
- Open the camera app.
- Now you can see the Switch Camera icon on the camera app.
- Then tap on the icon to switch the rear to front.
Solution 5: Software Update
If you’re using an outdated version of iOS, then make sure to update your device to the latest version of iOS. For that,
- Launch Settings->General.
- Tap on “Software Update”.
- Check if an update is available, then tap on “Download and Install”.
- Now click the Install now option.
Solution 6: Restore your Device
- Go to iTunes on your Mac.
- Connect your iPhone via Lightning cable.
- Then Hard Reboot your Device.
- Press the Volume Up button and then release it quickly.
- Press the Volume Down button and then release it quickly.
- Press and hold until you see the iTunes and Lightning cable logo.
Solution 7: Reset All Settings
If the above solution doesn’t work, then at last try this reset all settings method to fix this issue.
- Launch Settings > General.
- Scroll down the screen and find the Reset option.
- Then tap on “Reset all Settings”.
- Enter passcode if required and then again click the “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box to confirm the action.
Suggestion:
- Turn off the camera location service. For that, launch Settings. And tap on the Privacy option. Then choose the Location service option, turn off the camera app.
