iPhone X Keeps Dropping/Cutting Out During Phone Calls? Here’s the fix


Many iPhone X users have a complaint that their iPhone keeps cutting off during phone calls. If you have the same issue, this article will help you to fix it.
Solution 1: Restart your iPhone X

  1. Press and hold the Slide Button and either Volume Up or Volume Down Button simultaneously until “slider to power off” screen appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. To turn on your device, press and hold the Slide Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 2: Force Restart

  1. Press Volume Up button and quickly release it. And then press Volume Down button and quickly release it.
  2. At last, press and hold the Slide button (Wake/Sleep) until the Apple logo appears.

Note: Don’t press Volume Up and Volume Down simultaneously.
Solution 3: Enable LTE (VoLTE)
If your carrier (SIM) supports LTE,

  1. Launch Settings->Cellular->Enable LTE (Cellular Data Options).
  2. You can see three options. Select “Voice & Data”.

If carrier your (SIM) doesn’t support LTE,

  1. Launch Settings->Cellular->Enable LTE->Voice & Data.
  2. Select “LTE” from three options.enable-lte

Solution 4: Check for “Carrier Settings Update”
Connect your device to Wi-Fi/Cellular network.

  1. Launch Settings->General->About. Wait for 20-25 seconds.
  2. If an update is available, a pop-up box will appear. Tap “Update” in the pop-up box.

When you insert a new SIM, download the Carrier Settings for your new SIM.
Solution 5: Check for “Software Update”

  1. Go to Settings->General->Software Update.
  2. Tap “Install Now”.software update iphone x

Solution 6: Reset Network settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset Network Settings”.
  3. Enter passcode if required and tap “Reset Network Settings” in the pop-up box.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & passwords, APN & VPN settings, and Cellular Settings of the iPhone.
Solution 7: Reset All settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter passcode if required and then tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box.

Note: When you try Reset All Settings, your iPhone will remove all Bluetooth pairing details, saved Wi-Fi Networks & passwords,  and APN & VPN settings.

Other solutions:

  1. Eject the SIM and insert it back.
  2. Make sure that “Do Not Disturb” is turned off.
  3. If call dropping happens only for few numbers/contacts means, you might have blocked those number. So check and unblock them.
