iPhone Stuck on Checking for Update iOS 12? Here's the fix


Some of iPhone users said that they are getting more frustrated because their iPhone gets stuck on “Checking for an Update”. It seems to be a very frustrating issue and I too had experienced the same feeling before few days. Then my friend gave me some solutions to solve it and it worked for me. Now I’m gonna share those solutions with you to get rid of this issue.
Solution 1: Check for Internet Connection
Make sure that you have a stable and speed internet connection on your device.
Solution 2: Restart your device

  1. Press and hold the Power Button until you see a slider.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. Wait for a few minutes.
  4. Again press and hold the Power Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 3: Check for Storage.

  1. Launch Settings-> General.
  2. Scroll down and tap “About”.
  3. Hereby using “Capacity and Available” option you can analyze your storage.
  4. If your storage is full, then delete unwanted apps and data to free up space.
  5. Then Clear the cache memory.
  6. Finally, remove old browser history data.

Solution 4: Reset network settings

  1. Launch Settings-> General.
  2. Scroll down and tap Reset.
  3. Click “Reset Network Settings”.
  4. Then enter your Passcode.
  5. Now the pop-up box will be displayed. If you want to reset your network settings then tap “Reset Network Settings”.

Note: This process will remove Wi-Fi networks & Passwords, Cellular Settings, APN & VPN settings of your device.
Solution 5: Factory Reset

  1. Launch Settings-> General.
  2. Scroll down and tap Reset.
  3. Tap “ Erase All Content and Settings
  4. Now a pop-up box will be displayed with 3 options.
  5. If you want to take Backup your device then tap “Back Up Then Erase”.
  6. If you have already taken a BackUp then tap “Erase Now”.
  7. Wait until the process gets finished.

Note: This fix will remove all data from your device. Therefore, it is advisable to take a backup of all your data.
Solution 6: Update iPhone using iTunes.

  1. Install the latest version of iTunes on your system.
  2. Connect MacBook and iPhone via USB Cable.
  3. Wait for iTunes app to launch and connect to the iOS device.
  4. Click the Device button from the top corner in iTunes.
  5. Press  “Check for Update” without holding down the option key (Mac).
  6. if an update is available. It will automatically download the latest iOS for your device.
  7. Now a pop-up box about new update will be displayed in it.
  8. Press the Download and Update button.

Solution 7: Restore your iPhone using iTunes

  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac. Using USB cable.
  2. Open iTunes on your MacBook.
  3. Select your iPhone icon at the top corner.
  4. Click “Restore iPhone”.
  5. Now your iPhone will be restored.
  6. Again click “Agree”.

Note: Before restore, you have to back up your device. Because it erases the phone’s data.
