iPhone Not Vibrating on Silent iOS 12? Here’s the fix


Many Apple users have a complaint that their iPhone not vibrating on silent. They said this problem occurred after updating iOS 12. Here I going to tell you why iPhone vibration not working on silent and how to fix this issue.
Fix 1: Enable Vibration

  1. Go to Settings->General->Accessibility.
  2. Scroll down to find “Vibration” and tap it.
  3. Make sure that “Vibration” is turned on.

Fix 2: Enable Vibrate on Silent

  1. Launch Settings->Sounds/Sounds & Haptics.
  2. Make sure that “Vibrate on Silent” is enabled.
  3. There you can see many categories such as Ringtone, Text Tone, New Voicemail, New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, Reminder Alerts, and AirDrop under SOUNDS AND VIBRATION PATTERNS. Choose the category that is not vibrating when silent.
  4. Tap “Vibration”.
  5. Make sure that “None” is not selected. If you select “None”, vibration alert will be set to mute (Silent).
  6. Select any one of the Vibration alerts under STANDARD.

Fix 3: Turn off “Do Not Disturb”

  1. Launch Settings->Do Not Disturb.
  2. Make sure that “Do Not Disturb” is turned off.

Fix 4: Restart your iPhone

  1. Press and hold the Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the slide to power off screen appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. To turn on your device, press and hold the Power Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Fix 5: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  5. Again tap “Reset all Settings” to confirm.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.
Fix 6: Factory Reset
Before reset your iPhone to Factory Settings, back up your device. Because this action will Erase all data from your device.
To back up your device,

  1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
  3. Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.

Factory Reset/Restore

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
  3. A pop-up box will appear with three options: Finish Uploading Then Erase, Erase Now, and Cancel.
  4. If you want to backup your device, tap “Finish Uploading Then Erase”.
  5. If you have already taken a backup, tap “Erase Now”.
  6. Wait until the process is finished.

Other solutions:

  1. Check the vibration motor whether it is good or not. If it is nor working well, replace it.
  2. Make an Apple genius bar appointment.
