iPhone Flashlight icon is greyed out? Here's how to fix it

A lot of iPhone users asked “why is my flashlight disabled on my iPhone” or “why is my iPhone flashlight grayed out”.
This problem mostly happened when you update your iPhone to the newest iOS version like iOS 8, iOS 9 and iOS 10.

Solution 1: Close Apps and hard reset

  1. Close all apps on your iPhone.
  2. Then hard reset (Press and hold the Power button and Home button together until it restarts).

Solution 2: iPhone RAM reset
Press and hold the Power button until it displays “Slide to Power off” option.
Instead of sliding the slide to power of the iPhone, hold the Home button until Flashlight icon appears again.

Solution 3: Disable LED flash for alerts
Turn off LED flash for alerts. Sometimes this might help you to fix this issue.

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Accessibility.
  2. Scroll down and find LED Flash for Alerts in HEARING section. Turn it off.

Mine was fixed after going into camera and then closing camera app. Something to do with camera flash most likely.
