iPhone 8 Plus Touch Screen Not Working/Responding? Here’s the fix

Many Apple users have a complaint that their iPhone 8 Plus screen not responding to touch. Some people said that this problem occurs after update. Here I am going to tell you the solutions to fix this issue.
Solution 1: Force Restart

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Note: Don’t press the Volume Up and Volume Down Buttons simultaneously.
Solution 2: Check screen issues

  1. Make sure that your finger is clean and dry. Clean your finger before touching the screen.
  2. Remove the case from your iPhone.
  3. Remove the screen protector (Tempered Glass/Scratch Cover) from your iPhone.
  4. Check if there is any liquid or oil on the screen of your iPhone. If it is so, clean your iPhone with a soft cloth.

Solution 3: Plug in your iPhone to power

  1. Connect your phone to power for up to an hour.
  2. Wait for few minutes. Then you can see charging screen.
  3. If you can’t see the charging screen, check the jack, power adapter, and USB cable. Make sure that there is no debris in to the jack and they are not damaged.

Solution 4: Restore your iPhone in DFU/Recovery Mode
Before doing it, take a backup. Because this action may erase all data from your device.

  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac/Computer via Lightning (USB) cable.
  2. Open iTunes on PC/Computer.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is updated to the latest version.
  4. Then Force Restart your iPhone (follow all three steps from solution 1).
  5. Don’t leave the Side Button after seeing the Apple Logo. Keep holding it until Recovery Mode screen (iTunes) appears.
  6. Select “Restore” or “Update” in the pop-up box. Wait until the process is finished.
  7. Then Force Restart your iPhone.

Solution 5: Enable 3D Touch

  1. Launch Settings->General->Accessibility->3D Touch.
  2. Make sure that 3D Touch is enabled.
  3. You can also adjust (Light, Medium, Firm) the 3D Touch Sensitivity using the slider. Keep the sensitivity in Medium.

Solution 6: Check for Software Update

  1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Go to Settings->General->Software Update.
  3. Tap “Download and Install” if update is available

Solution 7: Reset All settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box.

Note: When you Reset All Settings, your device will remove all Bluetooth pairing details, saved Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, and APN & VPN Settings.
Solution 8: Factory Reset
Before reset your iPhone to Factory Settings, backup your device. Because his action will Erase all data from your device.
To backup your device,

  1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
  3. Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.

Factory Reset/Restore

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
  3. A pop-up box will appear with three options: Back Up Then Erase, Erase Now, and Cancel.
  4. If you want to backup your device, tap “Back Up Then Erase”.
  5. If you have already taken a Backup, tap “Erase Now”.

Then restore your phone From iCloud and iTunes Backup.
Other Solutions:

  1. Replace the screen.
  2. Check Apple warranty status. If your iPhone covers warranty, take it to the Apple Service Center.
  3. Make an Apple genius bar appointment.
