Many Apple users have a complaint that GPS not Working on their iPhone 6. They said that this problem occurred after updating iOS 12. Here I am going to tell you the solutions to fix this issue. If you have the same problem, this article will help you to fix it.
Devices: iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and 6s Plus.
Fix 1: Restart your device
- Press and hold the Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the slide to power off screen appears.
- Drag the slider to turn off your device.
- To turn on your device, press and hold the Power Button until the Apple Logo appears.
Fix 2: Refresh Location Services
- Open Settings->Privacy->Location Services.
- Turn off “Location Services”.
- Tap “Turn Off” in the pop-box.
- Wait for few seconds and then turn it off.
Fix 3: Reset Network settings
- Go to Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Reset Network Settings”.
- Enter the Passcode if required.
- Tap “Reset Network Settings” in the pop-up box.
Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.
Fix 4: Refresh Wi-Fi
- Go to Settings->Wi-Fi.
- Turn off “Wi-Fi”.
- Wait for few seconds and then turn it on.
- Make sure that Wi-Fi is turned on in Control Center.
Fix 5: Refresh Airplane Mode
- Open Settings.
- Turn on Airplane Mode.
- Wait for few seconds and then turn it off.
Fix 6: Force Restart
iPhone 6 and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X
- Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
- Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
- Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.
Fix 7: Set Date & Time to “Set Automatically”
- Go to Settings->General->Date & Time.
- Enable “Set Automatically”.
Fix 8: Check for Software Update
- Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
- Go to Settings->General->Software Update.
- Tap “Download and Install” if update is available.
Fix 9: Reset Location & Privacy
- Open Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Reset Location & Privacy”.
- Enter your passcode.
- Tap “Reset Settings” in the pop-up box.
Fix 10: Enable LTE (VoLTE)
If you are using Cellular Data, Enable LTE.
If your Carrier (SIM) supports LTE,
- Go to Settings->Cellular->Enable LTE (Cellular Data Options).
- You can see three options. Select “Data Only”.
If your Carrier (SIM) doesn’t support LTE,
- Go to Settings->Cellular->Enable LTE->Voice & Data.
- Select “LTE”.
Solution 11: Factory Reset/Restore
Before reset your phone to Factory Settings, backup your device. Because this action will Erase all date from your device.
To Backup your iPhone,
- Connect your device to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
- Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
- Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.
Wait until the process is finished. If the backup process is completed, you can see the date & time of the last backup under “Back Up Now”.
Factory Reset/Restore
- Go to Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
- A pop-up box will appear with three options. If you want to backup your device, tap “Back Up Then Erase”.
- If you have already taken a Backup, tap “Erase Now”.
- Wait until the process is finished.
