Fix 1: Turn off “Background App Refresh”
- Go Settings->General->Background App refresh.
- Tap “Background App Refresh”.
- There you can see three options. Select “Off”.
Fix 2: Force Restart
iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X
- Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
- Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
- Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.
Fix 3: Disable Bluetooth
Turn off Bluetooth when your phone is not connected to any other Bluetooth enabled devices/accessories.
- Go to Settings->Bluetooth.
- Make sure that Bluetooth is turned off.
Fix 4: Check For Software Update
- Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
- Open Settings->General->Software Update.
- Tap “Download and Install” if update is available.
Fix 5: Check the storage
Full storage may make your iPhone slow down. One of the iPhone users said that this solution solved this issue perfectly.
- Delete all unwanted third-party apps.
- Check the storage. If storage is full, free up space.
Fix 6: Force close apps
Force close the apps each time after using the iPhone. It will close the apps that are running in the background.
iPhone 8, 7, 6, & 5
- Press the Home Button twice. You can see recently closed apps.
- Swipe all the apps up to close them.
iPhone X
- Swipe the screen up from the Home screen. You can see recently closed apps.
- Press and hold the app firmly. Tap ‘-’ symbol in the red circle at the left upper corner of the app (OR) after seeing ‘-’ symbol in the red circle, swipe all the apps up to close them.
Fix 7: Enable Reduce Motion
Turning on reduce motion will change or disable certain screen effects such as screen transition, parallax, and animation effects. Because these effects may slow down your phone.
- Go to Settings->General->Accessibility.
- Tap “Reduce Motion”.
- Enable “Reduce Motion”.
Fix 8: Reset All Settings
- Go to Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Reset All Settings”.
- Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
- Tap “Reset All Settings”.
- Again tap “Reset all Settings” to confirm.
Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.
Fix 9: Factory Reset
Before reset your iPhone to Factory Settings, back up your device. Because this action will Erase all data from your device.
To back up your device,
- Connect your phone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
- Launch Settings->Apple ID (your name)->iCloud->iCloud Backup.
- Make sure that iCloud Backup is turned on. Tap “Back Up Now”.
Factory Reset/Restore
- Go to Settings->General->Reset.
- Tap “Erase All Contents and Settings”.
- A pop-up box will appear with three options: Finish Uploading Then Erase, Erase Now, and Cancel.
- If you want to backup your device, tap “Finish Uploading Then Erase”.
- If you have already taken a Backup, tap “Erase Now”.
- Wait until the process is finished.
Other Solutions:
- Disable Wi-Fi and Cellular Data when not necessary.
- This problem is common when you update your iPhone. So wait for 1 or 2 weeks. It will work normally. If it doesn’t work well, take a step to make it speed.
