Fixed: iMessage not working on iPhone 8, 8 Plus


As you all know iMessage is a free service introduced by Apple which lets the users send text, picture, video, audio, and location quickly and easily to anyone who uses iMessage on iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple watch. What happens if this amazing feature is not working suddenly…? Well, it seems to be a frustrating issue for you. Recently I too had experienced this same issue while using my iPhone 8. Then somehow I had fixed this issue with the help of tricks suggested by friend Wilson. Here, I gonna share those tricks with you so that you can get rid of “iMessage Not Working on iPhone 8, 8 Plus” issue.
Fix 1: Turn Off and Turn On iMessage

  1. Go to Settings -> iMessage.
  2. Turn Off iMessage and then wait for few seconds.
  3. Again turn on iMessage

Fix 2: Check for iMessage Service

Check whether if iMessage service is working or not. If it doesn’t work then the issue happens because of poor iMessage server. To verify that you can check the Apple’s system status page
Fix 3: Sign Out and Sign In iMessage

  1. Launch Settings -> Messages.
  2. Next, tap on Send and Receive.
  3. Then tap on your Apple ID.
  4. A pop-up box will appear to you.
  5. Now, choose Sign Out and then click Done.
  6. Wait for few seconds.
  7. Again go back to settings in the same way as did
  8. Sign In back your iMessage.

Fix 4: Turn Off Reduce Motion

  1. Launch Settings -> General.
  2. Then tap on Accessibility.
  3. Now choose Reduce Motion and then turn it off.

Fix 5: Reset Network Settings

  1. On your iPhone, launch Settings.
  2. Tap on General -> Reset.
  3. Tap on Reset Network Settings.
  4. Enter Passcode if prompted and tap Reset Network Settings in the pop-up box.

Note: This action will reset all Wifi Networks & passwords, APN & VPN settings, and Cellular settings.
Fix 6: Reset All Settings

  1. On your iPhone, launch Settings.
  2. Tap on General -> Reset.
  3. Tap on Reset All Settings.
  4. Enter Passcode if prompted and tap Reset All Settings in the pop-up box.

Note: Before doing this fix, it is advisable to take backup of all your data.

Fix 7: Check Date and Time

Make sure that you have set Date & Time Automatically.

  1. Launch Settings -> General.
  2. Tap on Date & Time -> Set Automatically.

Fix 8: Check for Software Update

  1. Go to Settings -> General.
  2. Tap on Software Update -> Download and Install.

Fix 9: Factory Reset

  1. Go to Settings -> General -> Reset.
  2. Finally, tap on Erase All Content and Settings.

Note: Before doing this fix it is advisable to take backup of all your data.
Other Solutions:

  • Make sure that your device has good and speed internet connection
  • Make sure that you have deleted old iMessage Conversations
  • Check whether your device is under Warranty status. If so, you can contact Apple Support for further help.
