Fixed: iBooks Not Working on iPhone and iPad

When I was trying to open iBooks on my iDevice, iBooks did not work. It was like corrupted. I couldn’t see my books and search anything. Even at the bottom of the page, there was icon not worked. It was really frustrating. I told this problem to one of my friends and he gave some solutions to resolve this problem. After tried this, there was no problem in my iBooks on my iPad. Solution 1: Check iBooks Store Restrictions
If you disable the restriction for iBooks, it won’t work. Make sure that you have enabled the restriction.

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Tap “Restrictions”. Then enter your passcode.
  4. Scroll down the page to find whether iBooks is enabled or disabled. If it seems to be disabled, you just enable it. ibook-restriction

Solution 2: Force Close the App
By pressing double-click Home button to close the apps. Here you can see the closed apps. You just swipe it and the app will be closed. Again open the iBook app to check whether it’s working or not.force-close
Solution 3: Restart your iPhone
iPhone 8 and Earlier

  1. Press and hold the power button until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. After few seconds, again press and hold the power button until you get an Apple logo.

iPhone X

  1. Press and hold the side button until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. Another way to restart your iPhone is open “Settings”.
  4. Tap “General”.
  5. Tap “Shut Down”. Then wait 10 to 15 seconds. After that click “side” button to turn on your iPhone.

Solution 4: Sign Out and Sign Back In iTunes & App Stores

  1. Open “Settings”.
  2. Click “Apple ID” banner.
  3. Click “iTunes & App Stores” and click Sign Out.sign-out
  4. Wait for few seconds and sign back in.

Solution 5: Reset All Settings

  1. Open “Settings”.
  2. Click “General”.
  3. Click “Reset” and click “Reset All Settings”.

Solution 6: Restore your Device
Before restore, you have to backup your device. Because it erases the phone’s data.

  1. Connect your iDevice to Mac.
  2. Open iTunes on your Mac. Then select your “iPhone” icon at the top.
  3. Click “Summary” panel.
  4. Then click “Restore iPhone”. Now, your Phone will be restored.

Solution 7: Check Cellular Data
If you can’t download from iBooks, you just follow the instruction.

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Scroll down the page to find “iBooks”.
  3. Under Allow iBooks to Access, turn on “Cellular Data”.cellular-data
