How to Reduce mobile data usage in iOS 12 on iPhone


Many of iPhone users report that after updating iOS 12  Mobile data and bill amount is getting high. Not everyone has unlimited mobile data. Many of them just using limited data pack so they feel to reduce the data usage. I too have the same issue and I had tried some steps to recover this issue. Now I’m really surprised to see my data usage is low. So I wish to share those steps with you and hope those steps will useful for you.

Turn off Autoplay videos

  1. Launch Setting.
  2. Scroll down to see “iTunes & App Stores”.
  3. Tap videos Autoplay.
  4. Select Off option.
  5. Also turn off autoplay video on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram.

Turn Off Automatic Download Using Mobile Data

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see “iTunes & App Stores”.
  3. Turn off Music, Apps, Books & Audiobooks, Updates.
  4. Also turn off auto download WhatsApp Images, Videos and Audios.

Turn off Mobile Data for iCloud

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Tap Mobile Data.
  3. Scroll down to see WiFi Assist, iCloud Drive and then turn off it.

Turn Off Background Apps

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see General and then tap it.
  3. Tap Background App Refresh.
  4. Select off option.

Turn off Mobile Data for Apple Music

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see Music and then tap it.
  3. Tap Mobile Data > Turn Off.

Reduce Data in Netflix

  1. Launch the Netflix app.
  2. Tap menu icon, then select App Settings.
  3. Tap Mobile Data usage.
  4. Select preferred settings from six estimated data usage.

Reduce Data in YouTube

  1. Launch the YouTube App.
  2. Tap your profile icon.
  3. Then tap Settings.
  4. Turn on the Play HD on WiFi only.

Turn off Location Services

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Scroll down to see Privacy.
  3. Tap Location Services and then turn off it.
