Since upgrading High Sierra, my photo App worked fine. But after upgrading it, the Retouch tool on my photo app doesn’t work well. It seems to be a frustrating issue and this happens every time whenever I try to edit my photos. I suggested this issue with my friend Robert and he gave me some tricks to fix the High Sierra Photos Editing issue. Following are the tricks have given by my friend to get rid of this issue.

Fix 1: Downgrade High Sierra
- Connect your Mac to the internet using Wi-Fi or Cellular Data
- Restart your Mac in the Recovery mode
- Press Command + R until your Mac reboots
- Press Disk Utility on the Mac OS X Utilities Screen
- Press Continue and then select your Startup Disk
- Tap Erase (at the bottom of your screen)
- Enter a disk name for the file to be deleted
- Select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the Format option
- Tap Erase
After doing this fix, you have to re-install Mac OS Sierra from the list of startup disk options.
Note: Before downgrading to Sierra, it is advisable to download Mac OS Sierra from the Mac store and then take a backup of all your data.
Fix 2: Contact Apple Store
If your device is under Warranty Status, then you can contact Apple Store for Repair or Replacement
Fix 3: Quit Dropbox
- Uninstall Dropbox from your Application Folder
- Restart your device
Fix 4: Repair Library
- Press Option + Command when you open Photos App
- Select Repair
- Restart your Mac
- Wait for few seconds
- Open Photos App

Other Solutions:
- Sometimes the issue may happen because of non-functional editing program. Therefore, you can consult Apple for technical support
- The issue may happen because of the RAW Photos which you have taken
- Do a clean installation process using a USB Drive
- A Time Capsule with a backup of a working Photo Library might help you to rebuild the Photo Library
- Try to delete and regenerate your whole Library for few days
