GPS not Working on iPhone 8? Here’s the Fix


I am using iPhone 8. After updating my phone to iOS 11, GPS is not working. Many iPhone users complained that GPS is not accurate on iPhone 8. I don’t know why. When I open Google Maps or Apple Maps, I can’t find my location exactly. One of the iPhone users suggested me some solutions to fix this issue. Here I am going to share those solutions.
Fix 1: Enable and disable Location Services

  1. Launch Settings->Privacy.
  2. Scroll down to find Location Services and tap it.
  3. Turn off Location Services and after 30 seconds turn it on.locaction services iphone

And make sure that Location Service is enabled for Maps.
Fix 2: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset Network Settings” under Reset.
  3. Enter passcode if required and tap “Reset Network Settings” to confirm the action.

This action will delete all WiFi passwords, APN and VPN settings of the iPhone.
Fix 3: Reset Location & Privacy

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset Location & Privacy” under Reset.
  3. Enter passcode if required and tap Reset Settings to confirm the action.
  4. Then turn on location permissions for Maps.

Fix 4: Enable and disable WiFi

  1. Go to Settings->WiFi.
  2. Turn off WiFi. Wait for 25 seconds.
  3. Then turn on WiFi.

Fix 5: Enable and disable Airplane Mode

  1. Go to Control Center.
  2. Tap Airplane Mode icon to  turn on it and then turn it off; Or
  3. Go to Settings->Airplane Mode.
  4. Toggle on Airplane Mode and then toggle it off.airplane mode

Fix 6: Hard Reset/Force Restart

  1. Press Volume Up button and quickly release it. And then Press Volume Down button and quickly release it.
  2. At last, press and hold the Slide button (Wake/Sleep button) until the Apple logo appears.

Note: don’t press Volume Up and Volume Down at the same time.
Fix 7: Soft restart

  1. Launch Settings->General.
  2. Find “Shut Down” and tap it. Now the iPhone will turn off.
  3. To turn on the iPhone press the slide button on the right side of your iPhone.

Fix 8: Change Cellular settings

  1. Launch Settings->Cellular->Enable LTE.
  2. Tap “Data Only”.

Fix 9: Reset Factory Settings (Factory restore)
This process will erase all data from your mobile. So Before doing it take a back up your iPad or iPhone.
To take a back up,

  1. Launch Settings->iCloud.
  2. Make sure that “iCloud Backup” is on.
  3. And tap on “Back Up Now”.

You can also Restore your iPhone using iTunes.
After finishing this restore everything,

  1. Launch Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Select “Erase All Contents and Settings”. Enter passcode if it is required.
  3. Then you will be asked to enter Apple ID password. Enter it. The reset process will take 1 or 2 minutes.

After that,

  1. Turn on your device.
  2. You can see the Apps & Data screen with four options. Tap “Restore from iCloud Backup”.
  3. Sign in to iCloud. To do that you have to enter Apple ID & Password. Then tap “Next” at the right upper corner of the screen.
  4. Then tap “Agree” to agree to Terms and Conditions.
  5. Then, the latest list of Backup for your iPhone will appear. Tap it. Restore will start.

Other solutions:

  1. Check Apple warranty status. If your iPhone covers warranty, take it to the Apple Service Center.
  2. Make sure that you have updated Maps App.
  3. Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
