No sound after Sierra update? Here's how to fix it


Recently, one of the users update the Mac OS Sierra.  After the installation, Sierra sound problems  occurred. Don’t bother about that. Try the below solutions to resolve the sound not working issues.
Solution 1: (Suggested by Dennis)

  1. Open “Audio MIDI Setup” from the “Other” section on your Launchpad.
  2. From the left side of the window, choose HDMI from the list.
  3. To get back your audio, modify the “Format” drop down to 16 bit 2 ch Integer 48.0 kHz.

Solution 2: Clear PRAM
Clear PRAM and restart laptop. Mean time, hold down CMD + ALT + P + R. Hold it until screen flashes 3 times.
Suggestion: Installing and reinstalling Sierra and now the headphone jack is working again.
Solution 3: Adjust Output Source
Open System Preferences -> Sound and change the sound output to 44.1 kHz/16 bps in Utilities/MIDI. This will resolve the sound problem.
Note: Reinstalled Mac Sierra and the Facebook video call audio problem will get solved.
Solution 4: Enter Terminal commands
Open the Terminal and enter the following command
sudo killall coreaudiod
This worked and you hear the sound again.

Solution 5: Change Internal Speakers Settings
no audio output
Open Settings -> Audio -> Output.
