Some of iPhone Users had reported a problem that the Face ID in their iPhone is not working properly. As you all know, it is the latest Security feature that comes with the iPhone X. How serious the issue would be when it is not working….? Yeah, I know how it feels because I too had experienced this same issue for 2 months. Then somehow I had fixed it with the tricks suggested below.
Fix 1: Turn Off and Turn On Face ID
Firstly, to turn off your face ID- Go to Settings >> Face ID & Passcode >> Use Face ID >> Disable iPhone Unlock >> Now, just turn off your device completely until you see an Apple logo >> Wait for few seconds and then again Launch Settings >> Face ID & Passcode >> Use Face ID >> Enable iPhone Unlock.
Fix 2: Reset All Settings
To reset all settings, you just go to Settings >> General >> Reset >> Reset All Settings.
Note: Resetting all settings doesn’t remove any data but it will change the settings back to default.
Fix 3: Reset Face ID
To reset Face ID- Launch Settings >> Face ID & Passcode >> Enter your Passcode >> Scroll down to see Reset Face ID and tap on it.
Note: This fix will remove all your existing Face ID settings from your device
Fix 4: Set Date & Time Automatically
To do this fix what you have to do is… Go to Settings >> General >> Date & Time >> Set Automatically >> Restart your device.
Fix 5: Restore your iPhone
Restoring your iPhone may help you to fix this issue. To restore it- Open icloud.com on your computer and sign in with your Apple ID and Password >> tap Find My iPhone >> tap All Devices and then select the device you wanna choose >> tap Erase and Confirm >> Now, connect your device to your computer and open iTunes option. Just select the device and then tap Restore and Confirm an action.
Note: Before Restoring your iPhone it is advisable to backup all your data
Fix 6: Turn On Attention Settings
To turn On it- Go to Settings >> Face ID & Passcode >> Turn On Require Attention to Face ID and Attention Aware Features on your device.
Fix 7: Enable Face ID for Different Services
To enable it- Launch Settings >> Face ID & Passcode >> Enable Face ID for different services (App Store, Apple Pay, and iPhone Unlock)
Fix 8: Update iOS
Make sure that you are using the latest version of iOS on your device. If not, update it by- Settings >> General >> Software Update >> Download and Install >> Enter your Passcode if it is needed and then tap to confirm an action.
- Make sure that your face is fully visible to the Camera on your device.
- Make sure that your device is in portrait orientation.
- Make sure that your Camera is not covered with a case, screen protector or dirt etc..,
- Remove Face ID and then Set Up Face ID again.
