Email Links Not Working on iPhone in iOS 12 – Fixed


Many iPhone users have been complaining that after upgrading to iOS 12 Email links not working. I too had this same issue on my iPhone. When I was trying to open link in my Email, it didn’t open. It was really frustrating to me. I told this problem to one of my friends and he gave me some solutions to solve this problem. After trying, I could open links in Email. Here I am going to tell you those solutions to fix this problem.
Solution 1: Restart your Device
iPhone 8 and Earlier

  1. Press and hold the Power button until the slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. To turn on your device, press and hold the power button until the Apple logo appears.

iPhone X and Later

  1. Press the power button and either volume up or down button until getting a slider.
  2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. To turn on your device, press and hold the power button until see a Apple logo.

Solution 2: Force Restart your Device
iPhone 6 and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XR, Xs and Xs Max

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Note: Don’t press “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” at the same time.
Solution 3: Turn On and Off Airplane Mode

  1. Open “Settings” .
  2. Turn on “Airplane” mode. Wait for few seconds. After that turn off it.
  3. Another way to turn on it is open control center and turn on Airplane Mode and turn it off.

Solution 4: Use Strong Internet Connection
If you have used poor internet connection, this problem might be happen. So, you have to use strong internet connection either Mobile Data or Wi-Fi. Then try to open a link.
Solution 5: Force Close Apps
When the link is not working or opening, force close the mail app. Then open the app and check the link. To do this,
Phone 8 and Earlier
Close the app while you are using the app. Then double click “Home” button. Here you can see the all closed apps. You have to swipe the app to close. After that, reopen the app and check te link.
iPhone X and Later

  1. Swipe up the screen from bottom left corner to middle of the screen. When you will get the closed apps, leave your fingers from the screen.
  2. Tap on the minus symbol or swipe up the screen to close the app.

Solution 6: Restore your Phone
If above solutions didn’t work for you, try this.

  1. First, connect your iPhone to the Mac.
  2. Then open iTunes on your Mac.
  3. Click iPhone icon at the top.
  4. Now, click Summary tab at left corner.
  5. A pop-up box will appear to confirm the action and tap Restore.
  6. Then iTunes will restore your iPhone.
  7. When your phone restarts, you can see few options. You have to select “Set Up as New iPhone”.
