Contacts Not Showing in Whatsapp on iOS 11.3 – Solved


After updating to iOS 11.3, many iPhone users complaining the issue that contact not showing on their iPhone or Whatsapp and it shows the only number. I have also had this problem on iPhone 7. After updating, there were no contacts shown on my Whatsapp. It was really frustrating. Recently, I met one of iPhone users and I discussed this problem with him. He gave some solution to fix this problem. After trying that, it shows my contact normally. In this article, I am going to tell you contacts not showing in WhatsApp on iOS 11.3. Solution 1: Restart your iDevices
iPhone 8 and Earlier

  1. Press and hold the power button until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. After few seconds, again press and hold the power button until you get an Apple logo.

iPhone X

  1. Press and hold the side button until you get a slider.
  2. To turn off your device, drag the slider.
  3. Another way to restart your iPhone is open “Settings”.
  4. Tap “General”.
  5. Tap “Shut Down”. Then wait 10 to 15 seconds. After that click “side” button to turn on your iPhone.

Solution 2: Turn on iCloud Contact Settings
If you turned on your iCloud Contact, you can bring back your contacts easily. To turn on,

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Click “Apple ID” banner.
  3. Click “iCloud” -> turn on “Contacts”.

Solution 3: Turn Off iCloud Contacts and Turn On Back
If you turned on iCloud contacts still you didn’t get back your missed contact on your phone, follow the steps to get back your contacts.

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Click  “Apple ID” banner.
  3. Click “iCloud” -> turn off “Contacts”.icloud-img
  4. You will get options that are “Keep on My iPhone”, “Delete from My iPhone” and “Cancel”. You will click “Delete from My iPhone”. Don’t worry Deleting contacts will be on your iCloud.delete-img
  5. Next, turn on “Contacts”. Now, your iCloud contacts will be back on your Device.

Solution 4: Re-add your Email
If you are deleting exchange email account on your iPhone, you can use your contacts no longer. Because the contacts may be imported into that email account. The best way to getting back on your contacts is re-add the email account what you have deleted.
To do so,

  1. Launch “Settings”.
  2. Click “Accounts & Passwords”.acc-img
  3. Click “Add Account” -> click “Exchange”.exchange-img

Solution 5: Export and Import your Contacts

  1. First export your Outlook contacts to a single CSV file.
  2. Import this file into your Gmail.
  3. From Gmail, export your contacts to single Vcard file.
  4. Finally, import this single Vcard file into iCloud.

Solution 6: Restore your Device
Before restore, you have to backup your device. Because it erases the phone’s data.

  1. Connect your iDevice to Mac.
  2. Open iTunes on your Mac. Then select your “iPhone” icon at the top.
  3. Click “Summary” panel.
  4. Then click “Restore iPhone”. Now, your Phone will be restored.
