Fixed: Can't Sign Out of iCloud on Mac


Some of Mac Users had reported a problem that they could not sign out iCloud on their Mac. Recently, I too had experienced this same issue while using my Mac. Then, somehow I had fixed it with the help of the tricks suggested by my friend Daniel. Here, I gonna share those tricks with you so that you can also fix “Unable to Sign Out of iCloud on Mac” issue.
Fix 1: Sign Out iCloud under iCloud Panel

  1. Firstly, go to the Apple Menu at the top left of your Mac screen.
  2. Then tap System Preferences -> Click the iCloud Panel -> Sign Out.

Note: Once you have signed out your iCloud account, your iCloud Contacts, emails, calendars etc…, will be removed from your device.
Fix 2: Turn Off iCloud Keychain

  1. Go to Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> iCloud and the Account details.
  2. Now, deselect Allow approving using Security Code.
  3. Finally, go to each of your devices that are using iCloud Keychain and then turn off iCloud keychain for it.

Note: It is advisable to backup your data before doing this fix
Fix 3: Create a new user for an iCloud account

  1. Go to System Preferences -> Users and GroupsUnlock Padlock and then click + sign.
  2. Now, you have to create a new user (not as Standard but as an administrator.
  3. just log out your account and wait for few seconds.
  4. Now login using the new user account.
  5. Finally, you can sign up for iCloud (using new iCloud Username and Password)
  6. And then again go to System Preferences -> iCloud ->Deselect the “Find My Mac” option under iCloud Preferences.

Note: It is advisable to backup your data before doing this fix

Fix 4: Contact Apple Store

Check whether your device is under Warranty Status, if yes then contact Apple Store for further help.
Other Solutions:

  • Turn off the internet connection from your device so that you can sign out while you are in offline (One of Mac User had suggested this fix)
