Call Waiting Not Working on iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR? Here’s the fix

Call waiting not working on your iPhone..? Many users think that this is the biggest issue. But it is not like that. Here you can find some simple solutions to fix call waiting on iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR not working.
Solution 1: Enable Call Waiting

  1. Open Settings->Phone.
  2. Tap “Call Waiting”.
  3. Make sure that “Call Waiting” is turned on.

Solution 2: Refresh Call Waiting

  1. Open Settings->Phone.
  2. Tap “Call Waiting”.
  3. Turn off “Call Waiting”.
  4. Restart your iPhone.
  5. Then turn on “Call Waiting”.

Solution 3: Force Restart

  1. Press the Volume Up Button and quickly release it.
  2. Press the Volume Down Button and quickly release it.
  3. Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 4: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset Network Settings”.
  3. Enter the Passcode if required.
  4. Tap “Reset Network Settings” in the pop-up box.
  5. Wait until your iPhone restarts and then connect it to Wi-Fi.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.
Solution 4: Check for Software Update

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.
  2. Launch Settings->General->Software Update.
  3. Tap “Download and Install” if update is available.

Solution 5: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset All Settings”.
  3. Enter your passcode and restrictions passcode.
  4. Tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box.
  5. Again tap “Reset All Settings” to confirm.
  6. Then activate “Call Waiting”.

Note: Reset All Settings will remove all Bluetooth pairing details, saved Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, and APN & VPN Settings.
Solution 6: Update/Restore your iPhone in DFU/Recovery Mode

  1. Connect your iPhone to Mac/Computer via Lightning (USB) cable.
  2. Open iTunes on PC/Computer.
  3. Make sure that iTunes is updated to the latest version.
  4. Press the Volume Up Button and quickly release it.
  5. Press the Volume Down Button and quickly release it.
  6. Press and hold the Side Button until Recovery Mode (iTunes) screen appears.
  7. Select “Update” in the pop-up box. If you select “Update”, iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without deleting your data. Wait until the process is finished.
  8. Then Force Restart your iPhone.

Note: If it doesn’t work out, select “Restore” instead of “Update”.  If you select “Restore”, all data will be erased from your iPhone.
Other Solutions:

  1. Contact Apple Genius Bar.
  2. Downgrade your iOS if this problem occurred after updating iOS 12.
