Suppose, you are unable to find the DNS server which you are looking for, you can add it with this tool.
- To find the fastest DNS services just click the “Fastest DNS” at the left-hand side of the window. After that, it specifies the list of DNS servers that is fast and you can set it as your DNS by clicking on the “Apply DNS Server”.
- You can add a DNS address for more speed and reliability.
- Select the “Mixed” Checkbox before starting the DNS benchmark test.
- Simply select the “Custom DNS Server” at the left-hand side of the window and enter the DNS addresses in the given fields and click on “Apply DNS”.
- You can also add your own DNS servers to the list. To do that, click the “Gear” icon in the DNS server field.
- Now enter the DNS server name, first and second DNS addresses, and then click on the “Add” button.

- If you need to benchmark, just go to the “Nameservers” tab and click “Run Benchmark”.
- To benchmarking the software you need to try three different tests like cached name, uncached name, and Dot Com Lookup to get accurate results.
- Due to the tests, it takes some time to complete the benchmark.
- After completing the test, DNS Benchmark will sort the servers according to the fastest.
- Go to the “Tabular” tab to see the test results.

Namebench is the oldest and simplest software to benchmark DNS servers. It is a lightweight, free, and portable application app. But, the developer has not released any new updates for this software. After you open the Name bench tool, you can see the window populated with your current DNS server address. You must modify the other settings.
