Many Apple users have a complaint that the microphone not working on their Apple Watch Series 4. They are trying lots of new ideas to fix this issue. But it won’t work. Don’t worry friends, this is not the biggest issue. Here are some simple solutions to fix Apple Watch Series 4 microphone not working.

Solution 1: Restart your iPhone and Apple Watch

Turn off your iPhone and Apple Watch together. First, turn on your iPhone and then turn on your Apple Watch.

To restart your iPhone,

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap on General.
  3. Now select the Shut Down.
  4. Drag the slider to turn off your iPhone.
  5. To turn on your iPhone, press and hold the Side/Top Button until the Apple Logo appears.

  1. First, hold down the Side Button until the Power Off slider appears.
  2. Drag the Power Off slider to turn off your Apple Watch.
  3. To turn on your Apple Watch, hold down the Side Button until the Apple Logo Appears.

Solution 2: Clean the Microphone

  1. Make sure that nothing is blocked from the microphone. Because debris/dust may block the microphone.
  2. Clean the Microphone with a small, dry, soft-bristled brush to remove the debris.

Solution 3: Remove the Case

  1. Remove the case from your Apple Watch. Because it may block the microphone.
  2. And remove screen protectors (Tempered Glass/Scratch Cover) and bumper too.

Solution 4: Force Restart your Apple Watch

On Apple Watch, hold down the Side Button and Digital Crown simultaneously until the Apple Logo appears.

Solution 5: Update your Apple Watch

Before updating your Apple Watch,

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi.
  2. Make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
  3. Keep your Apple Watch next to your iPhone.
  4. Then connect your Apple Watch to a power source and wait until it gets charged 50%.
  5. Don’t disconnect your Apple Watch from the power source until the update completes.

  1. On your iPhone, launch the Watch App.
  2. Select the My Watch tab.
  3. Scroll down to find the “General” option and tap it.
  4. Tap on “Software Update”.
  5. Select the “Download and Install” option, if an update is available.
  6. Tap “Agree” to continue.
  7. Enter your Passcode, if required.
  8. When the update process starts, you can see the progress wheel on your Apple Watch.
  9. When the updating process is finished, your Apple will restart automatically.

Solution 6: Enable Siri

On your iPhone,

  1. Go to Settings->Siri & Search.
  2. Turn on Listen for “Hey Siri”.
  3. If Listen for Hey Siri is already enabled, turn it off.
  4. Wait for few seconds and then turn it on.

On your Apple Watch,

  1. Launch Settings->General->Siri.
  2. Select “Always On”.

Solution 7: Unpair and repair the Apple Watch

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi or Cellular Data.
  2. Keep your Apple Watch next to your iPhone.
  3. Launch the Watch App on your iPhone.
  4. Next, tap on My Watch.
  5. Tap your Apple Watch when it shows on top of the screen.
  6. And the info symbol (i) that is next to your watch to unpair it from your iPhone.
  7. Tap “Unpair Apple Watch”.
  8. After unpairing, you can see the message to repair.
  9. Then repair your Apple Watch again with iPhone.

Solution 8: Factory Reset

If you don’t want to unpair and repair your Apple Watch, try this solution.

  1. On Apple Watch, go to Settings.
  2. Select the General.
  3. Scroll down and select the Reset option.
  4. Tap “Erase All Content and Settings”.
  5. Tap “Erase All” to confirm.

Solution 9: Unmute and Mute

Sometimes unmute and mute options may help to fix this issue. Try this one.

  1. During the phone call tap on the Mic symbol to mute, again taps it to unmute.
  2. And try this method one or two times and check If this works or not.
