Fixed: Messages Frozen and Crashes on iOS 17.5
Posted: August 14, 2024 | Updated: December 04, 2024After updating the iPhone to iOS 17.5, the Messages app not working properly. It only shows a white blank screen. Either you have to kill it or if you wait, it automatically crashes. Resetting or Restarting the iPhone does not fix this issue.
Solutions
Solution 1: Turn off the Focus option.
- On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Messages.
- Turn off the "Focus" option. Located at the top of the screen under the "Allow Messages to Access" section.
Solution 2: Sign out/Sign in Apple ID
- Go to Settings -. Your Name-> Click the "Sign Out" option.
- Then sign it back again.
Solution 3 Turn off the Stolen Device Protection
- On your iPhone, go to Settings -> Face ID & Passcode -> Stolen Device Protection.
- Turn it off.
Solution 4: Long Press the message on the lock screen
- When you receive the message, you will get a notification on your lock screen. long press it. A window will open to reply. Reply to the message and sent it. Your messages will work like normal.
Solution 5: if you have multiple devices
- Force quit all apps on both iPhones.
- Turn off both iPhones
- Turn only one device on.
- Now you will receive notifications and you can able to read messages.
Solution 6: Reinstall the iOS update
- Connect your phone to your Mac computer.
- Put your phone in recovery mode.
- use Finder on your MacBook to force install the iOS 17.5.1 update. using the update iOS option.
- Follow the normal setup procedure and restore from iCloud.
