Fixed: iPhone Screen Dimming When Watching Videos
Posted: August 14, 2024 | Updated: March 19, 2025When iPhone users watching videos the screen automatically goes to dim or blank on the screen. This issue happened even "automatic brightness" is turned off.
Solutions
Solution 1: Turn off "Dim Flashing Lights" option
- Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Motion
- Turn off "Dim Flashing alights" option, if its already turned on.
- Now go back to the video you are watching and check if the issue is solved or not.
Solution 2: Turn off "Reduce White Point"
- Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Display & Text Size
- Turn off "Reduce White Point" option.
Solution 3: Turn Off "Auto Brightness"
- Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Display & Text Size.
- Turn off the "Auto-Brightness" feature.
Solution 4: Turn off "Attention Aware Features"
- Go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Face ID & Attention.
- Turn off the Attention Aware Features".
Solution 5: For Instagram users (Turn off 'Disable HDR Video Playback')
- If you getting this issue on you Instagram video playback, then do this steps to avoid this issue.
- Open your Instagram app.
- Go to your Profile.
- Click the Hamburger Menu at the top right corner of the screen.
- Choose "Settings and Privacy".
- Scroll down the page and find "Media quality" option in "Your app and media" section. Then tap on it.
- Now turn off "Disable HDR Video Playback" option.
