Fixed: iOS AppStore Not Showing Update for App
Posted: August 14, 2024 | Updated: December 04, 2024If you search for any app on the App Store, it just shows the "open" button and not the "update" button. But if you click the app, it will show an "update" button on the app page. This problem mostly happened for particular apps. Other apps show the "update" button on the App Store.
Solutions
Solution 1: Offload the App.
- Go to Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage.
- Scroll down the page and open the particular app that not showing an update button. If you can't find the app in the big list, use the search button to find the app.
- In the app details page, choose the "Offload App" option. It will keep the app data and remove the app.
- Go back to the iPhone screen and select the app icon. It will download the app again.
Solution 2: Delete the App and redownload it.
Solution 3: Change the iPhone date and time to the future one to trigger the App Store Updates Refresh
- Go to Settings -> General -> Date & Time.
- Turn off the "Set Automatically" option, if it is already turned on.
- Change the Date to the future one.
- Now go back to the General option.
- Then relaunch the App Store and navigate to "updates". Mostly you will see nothing.
- Now go back to the Settings -> General -> Date & Time option and turn on the "Set Automatically" option.
- Close the Settings app. Then go to the App Store -> Updats option. You will see the app updates.
