Alarm Not Playing Music/Ringtone on iPhone XS Max – Here’s the Fix


There are many problems occur on iPhone. But here I will talk about Alarm not playing music or ringtone on iPhone XS Max. Many users have been getting this issue recently. An alarm is most important for those who are going to school, work or college or anything. So it may be our day starts with Alarm. We can set our favorite song as alarm tone. So it makes our day better.  If alarm not working properly, playing wrong sound, it irritates so much. Here I am going to tell you some solutions to fix this issue.

Solution 1: Turn Off and On your iPhone

  1. Press the Power Button and either Volume Up or Down Button until getting power off slider.
  2. Then drag the slider to turn off your device.
  3. Wait for 20 to 30 seconds.
  4. To turn on your iPhone, press and hold the Power Button until getting an Apple Logo.

Solution 2: Reset All Settings

  1. Go to Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Select “Reset All Settings”.
  4. Enter the passcode if prompted.
  5. Again tap “Reset All Settings” in the pop-up box to confirm.

Solution 3: Try this Way

  1. Launch Clock App on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “Alarm” Tab at the bottom.
  3. Then tap “+” button and create a new alarm that is 2 minutes from your current time.
  4. Tap “Edit” button and tap any alarm you have created.
  5. Now, tap “Sound” and scroll up the page and select “Pick a Song”.
  6. Select the song.
  7. In the upper left, tap “Back Button”.
  8. Tap “Save” to make changes.

Solution 4: Check the Volume

  1. Open Settings -> Sounds.
  2. Under “RINGER AND ALERTS”, check the volume. If it’s too low, then move the round icon to increase.

Solution 5: Check for Software Update

  1. Launch Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap “General”.
  3. Scroll down the page to find “Software Update” and tap on it.
  4. Then tap “Download and Install” if a new update is available.

Solution 6: Delete Third-Party Alarm App

If you are using third-party alarm apps, but it would not work properly then delete the app from your iPhone immediately. Sometime this kind of issue will happen when we have used third-party apps. But the app is your favorite or you won’t delete that you can contact the app developer to solve this issue.

Solution 7: Restore your iPhone with iTunes

Before restoring, backup your device because this action erases your phone’s data.

  1. Open iTunes on your PC or MAC. Make sure that iTunes is upgraded to the latest version.
  2. Connect your iPhone or iPad via data (USB) cable to the Mac.
  3. Tap your iPhone icon when it shows on iTunes.
  4. Select the Summary tab and tap “Restore iPhone”.
  5. A new box will open to ask to confirm the action. Tap “Restore”.
  6. Then iTunes will restore your iPhone.
  7. When your phone restart, you can see a few options. You have to select “Set Up as New iPhone”.
