AirPrint Not Working After iOS 12 Update


Many Apple users have a complaint that AirPrint not working with their iOS device. They said that this problem occurred after updating iOS 12. One of the iPhone users said some solutions to fix this issue. Here I am going to share those solutions with you.
Fix 1: Force Restart
iPad, iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and earlier
Press and hold the Home Button and Power Button (Sleep/Wake) until the Apple Logo Appears.
iPhone 7 & 7 Plus
Press and hold the Side Button and Volume Down Button until the Apple Logo appears.
iPhone 8, 8 Plus, & X

  • Press the Volume Up Button and release it.
  • Press the Volume Down Button and release it.
  • Press and hold the Side Button until the Apple Logo appears.

Fix 2: Check the printer

  1. Make sure that you are using AirPrint-supported printer. Click here to know which are the AirPrint-supported printers for iOS devices and check whether your printer supports AirPrint or not.
  2. Make sure that the app that you are taking print from supports AirPrint.

Fix 3: Check Wi-Fi connection

  1. Connect your iOS device and printer to the same Wi-Fi Network.
  2. Make sure that you are within range. Move your iOS device and printer closer to Wi-Fi router.

Fix 4: Refresh Wifi

  1. Turn off Wi-Fi on both iOS device and printer.
  2. Turn off both your iOS device and printer.
  3. Then connect your iOS device and printer to Wi-Fi.

Fix 5: Reset Network Settings

  1. Go to Settings->General->Reset.
  2. Tap “Reset Network Settings”.
  3. Enter the Passcode if required.
  4. Tap “Reset Network Settings” in the pop-up box.
  5. Then connect your device Wi-Fi.

Note: This action will reset all Wi-Fi Networks & Passwords, APN & VPN Settings, and Cellular Settings of your iPhone.
Fix 6: Check for update

  1. Connect your iOS device to Wi-Fi/Cellular Data.
  2. Go to Settings->General->Software Update.
  3. Tap “Download and Install” if update available.

Fix 7: Power cycle (restart) the Wi-Fi router or Hotspot
If you are using wireless router,

  1. Disconnect the router from the power.
  2. To do it unplug the power cord from the back of the router. Wait for some time.
  3. Then plug the power cord into the router.
  4. Reset Network Settings (Fix 5)

If you are using wireless hotspot,

  1. Turn off the hotspot.
  2. Wait for 30 seconds and then turn it on.
  3. Reset Network Settings (Fix 5)

Other solutions:

  1. Update the Wi-Fi router and printer to the latest firmware.
  2. Reset the printing system.
  3. Contact the manufacturer of the printer for support.
  4. Downgrade iOS 12 to 11
  5. Make an Apple genius bar appointment.
