AirDrop Stopped Working on Mojave? Here's the fix

Since upgrading Mojave, my AirDrop worked fine but after upgrading it, I couldn’t send/receive any files between my Mac and iPhone. Then what I did is… had shared this issue with my friend Sherick and he gave me some tricks to fix this serious issue. Here, I gonna share some tricks with you so that you can also fix if the same issue persists on your device.
Fix 1: Uncheck Block all Incoming Communications

  1. Go to Apple Menu ->System Preferences.
  2. Tap “Security & Privacy” and select “Firewall”.
  3. Click on Firewall Options.
  4. Uncheck Block all Incoming Communications.
  5. Finally, click Ok.

Fix 2: Restart both Mac and iOS device
To restart your Mac in Safe Mode,

  1. Turn off your Mac via Apple menu->Shut Down.
  2. Turn on your Mac.
  3. Press and hold the Shift Key as quickly as possible after you hear the startup sound. You can see the Apple Logo on the Screen.
  4. Keep pressing the Shift Key until you see the Login Window.
  5. Enter your User Name & Password to login. You may need to login twice if FileVault is turned on.
  6. Then Check for Software Update.

To restart your iPhone,

  1. Press and release Volume Up button quickly.
  2. Then Press and release Volume Down button quickly.
  3. Wait for few seconds and then again Press and hold Side button until the Apple Logo appears on your screen.

Fix 3: Check Everyone/Contacts Only

  1. On your Mac, go to Finder.
  2. Tap Turn on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  3. Select “Everyone” or “Contacts Only” and then give a try.

Note: It is advisable to select Everyone because you can also share content with the persons who are not even in your contact list.
Fix 4: Turn On Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Make sure that your Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are turned on in your Mac. If you have enabled Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on Mac, AirDrop will start function automatically.
Fix 5: Hard Reset
For Mac,

  1. Press and hold the Power Button until your Mac shutdowns completely.
  2. Wait for a few seconds.
  3. Again press the Power Button to turn on your Mac.

For iPhone,

  1. Press “Volume Up button” and quickly release it. And then Press “Volume Down button” and quickly release it.
  2. At last, press and hold the “Side button (Wake/Sleep button)” until the Apple logo appears.

Note: Don’t press “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” at the same time.
Fix 6: Check for Software Update.
Make sure that you are using the latest version of software on both of your Mac and iOS devices.
Fix 7: Contact Apple Support
If your device is under any Warranty Status, then you can Contact Apple Support for further Repair or Replacement.
