How to use AirPlay on iPhone, iPad and iPod


Using AirPlay on your iOS device is very easy. Here’s a how to guide for AirPlay streaming  on iPad or iPhone.

How to Enable/Disable and use AirPlay 

To start AirPlay mirroring or streaming do the following steps.

  1. Ensure your devices (iPad, Apple TV, iPhone or iPod) are in Same network.
  2. Swipe up from the bottom of your device screen to open Control Center.
  3. Tap on AirPlay button.
  4. You can see the possible AirPlay receivers list, each device have a speaker or TV icon which shows what kind of the content (video or audio) you can stream to it.
  5. Select the device from the list. Start playing content (Ex: YouTube, Spotify, iTunes) and it will streamed using AirPlay.

Use AirPlay on iPhone iPad iPod

Another way to turn on AirPlay and connect AirPlay device is within an App. AirPlay supported Apps will show a small icon. This will gives you a quick access to the available AirPlay receivers.

Note : AirPlay is Global Setting

You can use AirPlay on all of your apps and content that allow AirPlay. So it is important you need to understand it : If you turn on AirPlay it’s on globally activated. It will works across apps until you deactivate it.
